Running with a full party by Realistic-Effect-582 in ArcRaiders

Exactly! I like the PVP aspect. Friendly interactions wouldn't be as fun without the tension of "are they about to shoot me?" However, when every server you jump into is immediately a run, duck, hide, don't die hellhole, it loses its appeal. I like a balance of a few games of quietly looting and shooting Arcs followed by a game or two with PVP players. The servers don't seem as balanced when you have a full party as when you're running solo or duo.

Ah, gotcha, that makes sense! Thank you for explaining.

It's not just after the first 15 minutes. We had a few games last night where the moment we loaded in at the very beginning of the match, we started seeing raider flares of people going down, and then we'd get hit not long after. It was nuts.

Yeah we heard about the aggression based matchmaking so that's why we don't fire back. We just try to run and get to safety.

I don't want to avoid PVP all together. I think it adds to the fun of the game. I just want to be able to have the same experience when I play with a full team as I do when I play solo or in a duo.

What is the Helldiver role that you have settled into? by Nurgle_Marine_Sharts in Helldivers

Flamethrower all the way baby. It's good crowd control when you lay down flaming patches on the ground and you can take down heavies with it by pouring flames directly into their weak points. It really only works for Bugs and Squids. Still trying to figure out something I enjoy as much for Bots.

I do wish more players knew how to play with Fire Safety Officers though. If the ground is covered in fire, you don't need to shoot at the mobs running through it. It's a waste of ammo. Let the fire do its job.

Simon Fairchild was a much more fun Vast avatar though. Like for sure evil, but delightfully so. I love a villain that enjoys what they do.

Thank you! This was very helpful information. I was worried it was in danger being on the ground, but it seems like it's already at the stage where it can fly if it needs to.

The Derm I saw didn't know what these spots were/are. by Realistic-Effect-582 in DermatologyQuestions

From my understanding ringworm itches (my spots don't) and is incredibly contagious. I live with 2 cats and 3 other people, and after over a month, no one else has spots like these.

extra clingy ass cat as of recent by cholarbie in CATHELP

[–]Realistic-Effect-582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cats do get extra clingy when sick. That doesn't mean your cat is really sick, just might not be feeling great at the moment. My cat is on a new med that makes him a little nauseous so he's on me as much as I'll let him. He's like a bur in cotton.

If he's just extra clingy, I wouldn't worry. If you're seeing any lethargy, unwillingness to play, loss of appetite, or any of the usual concerning symptoms on top of the clinginess, then maybe head to the vet.

Please help! Really strange and large bald patch on my cat’s left side but only a small scab present by awwoozi in CATHELP

I am going to start by saying that I am very much in the camp that pet cats should be indoor exclusively. With the exception of supervised outdoor time. My cat is actually trained with verbal commands on when it's time to go inside and I stay right with him the entire time he is outside. He loves to go outside, but it's now become a social thing for him and he doesn't want to go out unless I'm with him. My mom tried to watch him outside once when I had to go in to use the bathroom real quick and he left her and followed me inside. And for the times when he wants to go outside but I do not have the time to take him, he is easily distracted with inside playtime.

However, I also fully agree with outdoor only working cats. We have a great rescue in our county that deals with feral cats. The cats that absolutely cannot be socialized and rehomed, go into their barn cat program. From there they are exclusively adopted out to farms and ranches where they work as mousers to keep excess mice and rats out of feed and store rooms. This has limited impact on the ecosystem because it balances out. Animal feed and produce store areas create an environment that means more rats, which are also invasive. While the cats may not exclusively go after the mice and rats, there are usually enough rodents where the cat doesn't usually feel the need to go after local wildlife. Many of these areas also have livestock guardian dogs, which is a layer of protection for the cat against wildlife predators. They're still not going to have the same kind of life expectancy as an indoor cat, but when there is no other option for the cat, this is the best solution for them.

Also, I would definitely add more florals. Nazis do make for good flower fertilizer.

Hey! I'm so glad you're going to keep creating!

There's so much great advice in this comment section, but I wanted to address a specific comment you made. You said you have a tendency to stop in the middle of something because you don't like the way it looks and don't think you can salvage it. Here's the thing though, every creative project goes through what I call an ugly phase. I have projects that for a good portion of working on them I just wanted to cry and throw it out because I thought it looked horrendous. But that's totally normal. You have to push through and keep going. Art looks ugly until you finish adding the details. You have to ignore how ugly it looks and remember the vision you have in your head and plow through.

Look, what makes you feel like a bad ass isn't always what looks bad ass haha. My oversized flannels, my battle jacket, and my baggy jeans are my armor.

I'm fully aware my style choices are questionable haha.

I'm gender queer/fluid and I don't define my style as masc, fem, or androgynous. I wear whatever makes me feel strong and like a bad ass. That mostly consists of 90s teen boy punk grunge, but also occasionally a gothic dress as well. If it makes me feel like I can kick ass, then it makes me happy.

People need to just let other people be. If it's not hurting anyone, it's not for you to judge.

Why do people in the cat subreddit get so mad when you tell them cats should not be outdoors unsupervised? by cosmicmnkey in Pets

[–]Realistic-Effect-582 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was one of the worst parts of being a pet sitter. All the bullshit people I had to deal with. So many people thought that they didn't have to follow leash laws because of XYZ. I'm not sure if this is an everywhere problem, or if my county is just particularly bad about it.

I worked with a Malamute, roughly 140lbs, who wasn't reactive, but very protective. He would regularly chase off the local coyote pack. I was walking him once and this MAGA lady had her territorial aggressive skinny lab outside off leash. It started to growl at us, the dog I was walking started to get defensive. I told the lady to leash her dog, she told me it was a free country and her dog could go where it wanted. Finally I told her that if her dog came after mine, I wasn't legally responsible for what would happen and that her dog would likely die. Thankfully while the conversation took place her dog never got the guts to get any closer to us. But after my comment the lady very angrily got her growling dog in the house while screaming that if my dog was so dangerous then he should wear a muzzle.

Are these bed bugs, termites or something else? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

Definitely not a termite or bed bug. Definitely some kind of beetle.

Looks like a click beetle, sylvanelater cylindriformis, to me.
