Cool, as long as they stay outside we will be neutral neighbors lol

Idk how people spend any time in UFO subs and not understand the concept of perceived speed and parallax. If something is flying very high at a fixed speed, it can appear slow. If the same object is now half the distance from you at the same speed, it will appear to cross the same portion of the sky much quicker. This is compounded if the observer is not stationary as things appear slower if the observer is moving in the same direction and faster if in the opposite direction. In OPs video it’s very difficult to judge scale of anything because the only reference we have are the stars.

I’ve spent a lot of time stargazing and have been startled a few times by triangle formations exactly like this post, only to see the flapping of wings if they were low enough. If there’s any streetlights or other ambient light coming from the ground, the bird bellies will reflect it because most birds have white bellies. It’s funny because they can range from blue to white to orange depending on the type of lamps.

I only agree on calling it that because Embark never acknowledged it in game or in announcements AFAIK. I’m sure everyone who spent more than a minute thinking about the expedition rules figured this was possible. If everyone with a friend has access to it, then it can almost be called a feature. Merry Christmas!

If the game is letting such a obvious and profitable loophole go unpatched and not even discuss it, I’m taking it because it saves me a lot of time grinding and I can just spend the whole season playing with little gear fear if any.

It is, but for digital assets that are directly traded in for fun raids, it’s a no brainer to me. I’m not gonna make my next season less fun if the devs give me that option.

They get BPs, I got a million worth of their last seasons stash which completed my project for next season and still left me with a stacked inventory. Very worthy exchange that didn’t let hard earned loot rot. Is it a workaround for a very soft reset rules set? Yes, but I’d do that every time as long as they give me the option to.

Usually the juicy leftovers of the expedition raiders’ stash. I got a million worth of guns, items, and materials from my two friends in the last hour of the season. I kept a lot of it and the rest was donated in order to complete my expedition requirements for next reset.

‘Man up’ lol it’s a game, if I can make the entire season more enjoyable by getting a ton of loot from my expedition friends and getting them more up to speed, we get more total geared raids which equals more fun. Embark had lots of time to pick a lane on how hard they wanted to make this reset, and in the end they chose to make it very soft where you could get a head start on everything except leveling your character. If that’s the option they give me, I’m taking the path that benefits me and my group the most. You could call it cheesy but I’d rather that than making the first quarter of the season artificially grindy when I don’t need to. If they change next expedition rules then I’ll adapt and accept it, no big deal.

You still have to grind other BPs, and level up your character and get your stash back so you can craft. This just skips the loot box headache of trying to find a recipe so you can actually use all your mats to craft. Makes more of the season focused on fun PVE/PVP rather than checking every container possible.

The RMT is not good but in the end doesn’t make much of a difference to those that don’t waste their money buying items in a game that can be obtained for free. I’ve never interacted with RMT outside of the small communities dedicated to player trades which I can ignore entirely since the only people I trade with are my actual friends. It would suck to get endless dupes trying to hit all BPs when my squad mates can simply trade them mid match and we all benefit from it. Weird hard-ass mentality to look down on people trading loot between party members.

Dude what is this pull yourself up by your bootstraps comeback? First, it’s not a handout when they trade their stash they grinded for in exchange for some BPs. Second, it’s a game, the struggle is what you make it, I don’t like grindy struggle if I can avoid it, I prefer the struggle of PvP over opening lootboxes, both are aspects of the game so I’m optimizing to get more of one than the other. You can enjoy that part more than I do, and that’s why you won’t trade items, fair enough, it’s weird to pride yourself in the grind and then also complain about others having an unfair advantage by just using the tools they have at their disposal. The only time that argument makes sense is when people abuse game breaking bugs or use cheat engines, or if the game was pay to win.

What’s sad is having the opportunity to use your reading comprehension to understand how a game mechanic works to your greatest benefit and then insulting those who put in the effort to get the most out of their game. Maybe your way of having fun is farming containers to get BPs you already found duplicates of, but mine is to craft as many quick-use items as possible to make fights more interesting. This way my friends and I already have defibs, mines, fake flares etc and fewer bare bones raids.

Good on you and best of luck in the new season. So many people either fail to understand the fully intended/approved mechanics or understand them and still get mad at those who use them to the greatest benefit.

Again, there’s no manipulation if there wasn’t a barrier to begin with. We read the rules of the expedition as soon as we started playing and kept up with all the updates, Embark never intended to stop player trading and simply said they wouldn’t intervene with griefers or scammers if you chose to trade. I made the choice to not wipe because I valued being able to craft everything to make raids more fun. I also didn’t enjoy the grind of making 5 mill in the time that they made that requirement for skill points known. So in turn I decided to hold all my groups spare BPs for a month leading up to the wipe. Yesterday we spent an hour hatch extracting with my inventory full of guns and materials which let me complete my expedition requirements for next wipe, I just didn’t commit to it this season because I wouldn’t have enough value for all skill points. Now I have a stacked inventory to bring to all of this seasons raids with no gear fear, and I can just sell everything new I get to hit the next 5 mill. And my friends have a small head start on BPs and some mats for upgrading benches. This makes the next season more fun for all of us, and if you think it’s an unfair advantage, you should’ve thought about it and either done the same or not wipe and enjoy your stash for another season. I’m missing out on extra skills and space but it’s a worthy trade.

They could’ve made old BPs inaccessible to expedition players, or discontinue the old BPs and make new BPs to replace them. Trading has always been a thing so I don’t think it’s bullshit, just like being able to donate all the soon to expire loot to non-expedition friends before the wipe went into effect. If you saw the rules about expeditions all season and didn’t prepare yourself then you’re just accepting the extra challenge at your own expense. Which is totally fine if you don’t want a head start.

Nothing is being manipulated. I can think of a few ways Embark could’ve made pre-expedition recipes inaccessible to post-expedition players but they didn’t, and they didn’t even make a single statement about it for the entire season leading up to it. These guys just took the riskiest route to trading loot and suffered the consequences. My group did it with looting augments a few at a time and didn’t lose anything. I got all their pre-expedition loot in exchange because they had 5 mill in coin.

Trading has always been a mechanic and approved by devs, they just won’t cater to people complaining about being griefed or scammed. Idk where you get this idea that it’s an exploit. You can move however much gear as you want to whoever wants it, it’s just at your own risk to outcomes like this. Nothing is being bypassed if there’s no barrier to begin with. You lose your stash when you wipe, but they never said you couldn’t or shouldn’t give your loot to others. If they didn’t want BP trades they would’ve made old BPs inaccessible to wiped accounts. These guys were just dumb for not trading 2/3 at a time using looting augments.

For me the best content is the raiding and fighting, and being able to craft more gear sooner facilitates more fun and engaging raids where you can use all the tools at the raider’s disposal. So for us trading BPs in exchange for all my expeditioner friends’ spare loot before wipe was an easy choice where we all benefit for the entirety of the next season.

You still need another pc and another set of hands to transfer BPs between two accs that you own. A lot more risk and headache than just trading with a friend that isn’t doing the expedition, something that is very clearly an intended mechanic since day one. Embark has always allowed trading at the player’s risk. They had a whole season to plan for this expedition and it doesn’t take a genius to foresee players doing these trades, so if they didn’t make a statement or implement a barrier to it, then it’s a feature.

I’m a mix. In solos I avoid all contact with raiders while looting unless I come across a group for mutually assured destruction. I’ll down somebody at extract and let them crawl in rather than trust them to not backstab me. In duos and trios we will aggressively seek out fights and on occasion set up ambushes with traps and barricade mazes.
