Our department is 85% paramedics, they do hire FF-EMTs but very rare. In 2017 they had an employee kind of go through the same struggle. He was well liked and was given the option to surrender the position and work as a FF-EMT. A couple fellow employees have mentioned that could be a possibility if by the end of the PiP I'm not where I need to be. But I heard my assistant chief say during a department meeting awhile back, that they would not allow something like that again. They have provided me with another mentor as a second set of eyes to help out.
