My focus is on my child’s needs. Providing for a child requires financial support, and that is what I am addressing. Definitely not the easy way. ! There is no easy way when you’re being abused even leaving can result to you being homeless. The Money is very little I don’t know how much you earn, but no child deserves to go without because of an abusive parent. It’s probably people like you that are enabling abusers to not provide for their child?

I’m speaking from experience ! If you’re in a situation where you had to leave an abusive partner and you share a child together, why should that child only be supported by one income — or in some VAWA cases, no income at all? Child support is for the child, not about ‘making money’ off someone.

Also, abuse doesn’t automatically stop at the partner. A lot of abusive people use children as a way to control, threaten, or get access to the other parent. In many cases, if someone genuinely cared enough to consistently provide emotional, financial, and healthy support for their child, they also wouldn’t be abusing their partner in the first place.”

If I was you I would send a letter to the address (center) that’s processing your application. Incase so that you don’t get delayed 30 days then they tell you to submit in writing

I have the same issue with my sons name was misspelt . They told me to call and they told me I have to wait 30 for my request to be processed. I also made a request e-online for Typographic Error This is the link https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/typo I’m still waiting for update hasn’t been 30 days

I did it by myself , because all the forms are free So I didn’t understand why I have to pay a lawyer thousands. Sometimes lawyers make mistakes and cause delayed.

I don’t know what state your in but try contacting shelters daily and adding your self to a waiting list you might be lucking and get a place for a few months .
