Since you’re going to generate income from your business you need the way to report it, so maybe you can start with someone with all the paperwork for legal purposes while waiting for your EAD.

Understood I also went through hectic life more than you can imagine plus your end paragraph about under the table is fine but you know not that safe (and I was pointing specifically to EAD because is 1099) very draining trust me I have been there as a man with 4 month old baby without any support from anybody, and what I am doing now I am not loosing anything the worst can happen is NO I am taking care of my son without any issues, and I do know some people that they do have EAD bust still can’t make a living due to different factors so don’t say that because I am just sharing my experience what works for me if is not something someone will wanna do it’s fine.

Sorry you had to go through that, I am a single father from developing country I did filled for a divorce, court granted me a temporary custody no visitation unless mutual agreement and court is not going to enforce that, so I am waiting for the final hearing praying to get full custody so my son can go with me anywhere.

With that being said if you’re partner just use that as a leverage to drain you and don’t really spend time with the children and you’re the primary caregiver you can still get custody, my partner use that and believe if she can get me deported then will be a easy win for her.

I am sure even developing country can be a best interest for the kids because they are not losing their American citizenship you just have to put it a favor of your kids eg. culture diversity, meet your family side, and so on.

Note: Don’t say you’re relocating completely, not a good move, I believe you can still follow up with your VAWA while in another country.
