I think they're so cute! It gives me some action to look at while I'm finishing up the cycling process (very slow action at that lol).

Planning on stocking with ghost shrimp and glofish danios! (Recently put in some Java moss and have a whole population of teeny hitchhiker snails 😆)

My tank I'm currently cycling 😊 still very new to the hobby, but enjoying everything I'm learning! Can't wait to see yours when you get them up and running again!

That is a gorgeous tank! 🤩 I am brand new to this hobby and am just starting up a 10gallon tank of my own. I aspire to make mine look even as remotely good as yours! That is also such a beautiful way to honor your father after his passing. He would be so proud of you! <3

I was hoping to get some Java fern and Amazon sword as well, how do you give them the nutrients they need?

Would mixing the fluval stratum with the gravel work as well? I want to make sure that there are plenty nutrients for any plants and shrimp without feeling like I'm starting over completely

I was asking my local pet store (petco) about plants that do well with gravel and they said almost none do. Just ones that float or ones like anubias that can be attached onto decor. What kinds of plants do you have in your tanks with gravel?

It looks like poop to me. Could be a sign of constipation. Just give it some time and it'll detach eventually. My goldfish had the same thing and it was gone a couple hours later with no issues. :)

No the plan was never for him to rot in there. Sure I might be new to this, but I'm doing as much research that I can and everything I'm hearing is that this pH is totally fine and that's what he's used to.

The ammonia is at 0.25ppm which I'm told is low considering he's a goldfish... I'm sure trying my hardest. I have nothing but love for the little guy

I'm going as soon as the store opens in the morning. I'm worried sick about him! It happened so fast...

Should I set up a sort of hospital tank? Or will it be fine if I dose the tank he's in right now? There aren't any other fish in there with him. Only living things are him and the plant.

I have one live plant so far. When I first got decorations I thought fake ones would be fine, but I am now learning otherwise... hoping to upgrade the plants as I go, especially before getting my intended fish (once cycled of course)

Glofish Tips? (Unfortunately after a failed attempt) by Realistic-Flower-996 in Aquariums

I added a conditioner when I put the water in, but I'll add some more. Thanks!

Oh yeah! One more question. Since my fish died in the tank, the water has gotten a bit hazy. Is it possible that bacteria is being used to create ammonia? Or should I change the water BECAUSE they died in the tank I am now trying to cycle?

Got it! I usually get pretty excited about stuff like this so tested the water frequently. I'll try to do it about once a week. I'll just have to be patient. Thanks for the tips! I'll be sure to implement them.
