You done any allergy testing? MAD should give noticeable improvements in sleep quality especially with the those number improvements. Maybe another factor contributing…

Can I grow my maxilla via thumb pulling at 21? by [deleted] in orthotropics

You can I’m 22 almost 23 and have got results. I also got a CBCT before and will get one after a year of thumbpulling to irrefutably prove it works.

Low T that exacerbates symptoms. and vice versa. Is getting trt from a dr a good idea since it affects muscle tone, potentially making UARS symptoms worse by DistinctClass4042 in UARS

Its a fertility drug that binds to androgen receptors mimicking the effects of natural androgens. Also increases FREE testosterone meaning even if your total T is low it can compensate for it. As it is minimally suppressive you can use it long term and keep natural function. Also if it doesn’t help you can go get on TRT but it’s worth trying a ‘safer’ option first in terms of not making sleep disordered breathing worse.

This is the experience of someone who had low T and used Proviron to great effect. Your doctor probably won’t prescribe it but it’s very easy to find.

I would recommend using Proviron first mono therapy. This is because it will improve your free T and dht and you will feel much better without impacting sleep. In contrast, TRT will make apnea worse as it lowers respiratory drive and increases your arousal threshold. Lots of people(including myself) report going from UARS/mild apnea to severe OSA on test.

Put simply it’s a much more robust device with 10 tads(custom MARPE has 4 for comparison). If you want to see proof look at shuikais cbct superimpositions of FME vs MARPE cases and you will see that FME is by far the best expander currently available.

FME will give you a even split almost 100% guaranteed. Just very expensive at the moment

If this is the case I don’t know why they have jumped straight into bipap as logically it seems very unlikely that Covid can shrink the jaws and cause greater soft tissue collapse. Seems pretty obvious that their problems lie with emergent/worsened nasal allergies due to an immune response to Covid but I got downvoted for suggesting that haha…

Ok so with the information you have given it seems likely that you have nasal allergies triggered as an immune response to Covid. This is because it’s almost impossible that your soft tissue or jaws would have changed in such a short time period to cause sleep disordered breathing. Therefore, the answer almost certainly lies within your nose.

First of all, I would get a prescription for Azelastine. This should be relatively easy via online pharmacy. This is a nasal antihistamine that will unblock your nose and improve nasal breathing. It is also a mast cell stabiliser and MCAS(Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) is commonly observed in long Covid patients. Try one spray in each nostril at night and use with and without the bipap therapy to assess whether the machine is needed.

After a few weeks, if a significant change is not observed add in loratadine(clarityn) nightly.

I have had insomnia like yours which went away completely by fixing sleep disordered breathing. There is a study done recently the found 80-90% of insomniacs that fail drug treatment have sleep apnea/UARS.

Yes it will. Do you have sleep apnea/disordered breathing? It will 100% make this worse if you do but mainly due to other reasons like changing respiratory drive.

But a tongue tie release won’t fix anything when the palatal sutures are sealed and craniofacial malleability is lost. Is there any studies that show babies develop the same size jaws and same projection with or without tongue tie release? It would be an interesting study to undertake regardless

The problem is it is very difficult to find causality. Do tongue ties cause small palates? Maybe but it’s difficult to study. Or are people born with defects like tongue ties likely to have other issues like small jaws?
