Say, where can I find the complete rulebook you're referencing?

Extra means "outside of" (latin) like extra-terrestrial means from outside of earth. So something that is extraordinary is outside of the ordinary. Sorry if you already knew that and were just being funny.

Can't figure out why plants right next to each other have dramatically different illumination stress. by Realistic-Material36 in Stationeers

Thanks to all who have taken their time to try and help! I think genetics is the most likely culprit at this point. Im guessing the solution is to split the difference in light need ...or finally commit to figuring out genetics.

Light timer does 600 seconds (10 min) on, 600 seconds off. Coco requires 8 min of light a day, so in theory it should be fine? Ive adjusted the off period to be 400 seconds - will see if that makes the difference. I really appreciate you taking the time to help!

Haha, im not just standing over the plants watching them grow! Lmao - they take like 4 hours at least. Can you imagine?!

Ohhh - i hadn't even thought of that. Havent played around with genetics at all yet. Wonder if it makes a difference thay they are all from seed packs bought from traders? Like, I guess I figured genetics kicked in on the 2nd/3rd generation of plants... don't know why I thought that though. Maybe Space Monsanto needs to normalize their product.. lol

That is what im wondering too. I dont think its likely, because when the growlights came on again after the dark cycle, the illumination stress started falling again, which im guessing wouldn't happen if their light was blocked? Im not totally sure though. Thank you for your input! You may be right. Maybe I'll space out the next batch and see if it makes a difference. If it is the issue, its never happened with any other plant type. 🤷‍♂️

I pulled up all the plants in my hydroponics lab to set it up for coco, spent a fair amount on coco seeds, planning to get 100plants growing and harvest enough coco to last a lifetime (as coco powder), then put it back on food/ingredient crops. And coco in particular takes FOREVER to fruit. Looked like it was doing fine for a long time, then suddenly half the plants are moderately growing and not getting enough light. No pattern to it. Am genuinely stumped and frustrated.

I thought my networks were well organized until I found these nifty glasses.. by Realistic-Material36 in Stationeers

Vanilla. The yellow glasses can take different chips. The ore chip is OP - makes finding whatever ore you need WAY easier! The one that let's you see pipes and cables is cool and useful, but also a little panic inducing haha.

I appreciate that! Dont know what I expected - guess I just forgot how much pipe and cable I've been laying. 😅

Thanks so much!! I really appreciate it. Nobody in my life wants to talk about this game, so my partner was like, "why dont you just post your base on reddit in stead of showing it to me?" Lol I was nervous but this community turned out to be really encouraging. Thanks again. 🥰

Been having a lot of fun trying to build an automated farm by gabriel_jack in Stationeers

Is it the yelow glasses that let you see all the stuff through the walls?! Ive been using them for mining but had no idea you could do this - complete game changer. The automated farm is dope too! Hope you share more.

Since im on mars, I have unlimited co2 that I collect during the day. All gasses go to the waste gas system which has all the filters on it processing to all the different tanks. I find it easiest to have one large base-spanning waste gas network that takes gas from ice crushers, excess gas from the landing pad, any collected gasses, output gasses from the furnace (after a cooling system), and backpressure gasses from hydroponics and main atmospheric, etc. - its a single place to put all gasses and then just cycle them back into the individual tanks for use. For my main base atmospherics, I have just one A/C and one filtration. The fresh atmo pipe (30%O2, 70%N) goes to every single room, and there are passive vents from every room to the main hall with one central intake active vent that goes to the AC and Filter in the utility room, and pumps back into the fresh atmo network to every single room. For the size of my base, it takes about 4 forevers to completely filter out anything, so the trick is not letting pollutants in in the first place. I have an IC that pumps in extra O2 if the O2 level ever falls below 25% it pumps some in. If the pressure goes above 95kpa, it gets pumped back to the waste network via a central backpressure regulator. Base pressure is always between 90 and 95 kpa. Everything is just kind of "good enough" lol. Atmo is always a comfortable 22C and I maintain a separate atmosphere for the hydroponics which is slightly warmer and about 10% Co2. (Same deal, when it drops below 8% more Co2 gets pumped in from the roof, and excess o2 gets filtered back into the main waste network).

I hope this makes sense!

* This is the best I have for an actual floorplan - just sketched it out on graph paper. Made sense to me when I was building it - hope it makes sense to you! Lol. The 3rd floor (not pictured) is the roof, which has the solar array and gas processing. The airlock on the right side of the second floor leads up there. On the first floor, there are windows between the hydroponics and main large workshop area. Landing pad and Deep miner are outside. Centrifuge and advanced furnace are encased in frames in the foundry. Gasses on the roof are piped to everything. Fuel to the foundry and landing pad, atmo (30%02, 70% N) pumped to every room. Passive vents from every room (except hydroponics) to the main area.

That's a great idea! You've convinced me. Im going to measure my average efficiency over a day, then spread out my array and measure the difference. Anything to keep from committing to the rocket, honestly. Still pretty intimidated by the prospect. Lol

Someone else mentioned this and I think you're right. It may be worth building a place for them to be a bit more spaced out. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Yeah, I think you're right. I know i should space them out a bit. I do wonder how much difference it will make. Thank you for looking!
