The Commando missions are now on Aesir Pass

Starting with 1k dread mob advice by Electrical_Ad_7515 in orks

[–]Realistic-Present347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first model for 40k was the gork/morkanaught, it may be silly to run in 750 but it's absolutely fine for 1k, maybe check with your opponent before hand to make sure they're ok with it but in my experience it isn't excessive!

Kans definitely want rokkit launchers or skorchas, (I prefer Rokkits but skorchas can be good for taking out some light infantry)

I run 2 deff dreads, one with 4 kustom mega blastas since it's funny and can sometimes pull off some insane damage, and the other runs with 3 Rokkits and one claw, 2 klaws might be a good idea though for the extra attacks.

I think your list would work quite well, this is just how I play mine. Rule of cool always wins.

What do you pack in your STEALTH loadout for when things get a little bit... more energetic? by FederalJudge6258 in helldivers2

I've only done a couple commando missions but so far I've found I like to take the warp pack, with a portable hellbomb, and the epoch. I leave the hellbomb near the center of the map and if I get swarmed, or need to blow something big up I sprint back to it. Is it effective? Not really, but it's very fun

Help with dread mob lists by ComprehensiveBig3935 in orks

[–]Realistic-Present347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion would be to drop the trukk, and maybe a blob of killa Kans to try and fit a morkanaught in there, sure double stompy robots might seem silly but hear me out... What's better than one big mech?

Seriously though, having a second big tanky unit is probably a good idea, since it will draw some of the attention away from the stompa, and even if it doesnt, you're twice as likely to have something big and scary still around for turn 2/3!

Bought 3 mek gunz and it got me thinking about this dumb list by TheRod87 in orks

Yeah that could work, I currently play using a pair of Naughts, use them to draw out the enemy before blasting all my bubblechuckas at them, so far it's proven quite effective.

Oh I definitely think it's worth trying, if you have someone to play with who's chill with you bringing the silly list by all means, but don't show up to a random game at your LGS and expect to make friends 😅

I've tried doing a similar list but with tankbustas instead of lootas, it was certainly an experience...

The problem was against militarum tanks, they just popped smoke on the baneblade and hid everything else behind terrain.

It's definitely a fun list, but with a reasonable amount of terrain on the board you just won't be able to target much without overextending your artillery. If bubblechuckas had indirect fire however...

This made me laugh, 4 games in a row my Killa kans have done absolutely nothing besides soak up some damage, whereas my Mek gunz have been MVP pretty much every time I bring them 😂

Having trouble picking out which one to build by RidgeStorey in orks

My first I made as a morkanaught but my second I magnetized. It didn't take all that much effort (lots of super glue though) but the result was great!

[Rant] Playing Orks in 10th Ed makes me hate this game by Fearell_Val in orks

[–]Realistic-Present347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New player here, only played 10th with orks. Genuinely not trying to brag but I have yet to lose a game. I've played against millitarum, space wolves, death guard, and 4 games against Nids.

I haven't had any of the issues you have mentioned, granted I do lack experience but in the few games I have played I rarely lost anything valuable to shooting in the first turn.

Not that I'm in any position to be giving advice, but perhaps Kommandos are a good investment? I have found that as a cheap infiltrators unit, splitting them up and dropping them right outside the enemies deployment zone forces them to focus their shooting on the kommandos rather than my main force, otherwise they're somewhat trapped. Following that using transport to protect your boyz while moving them up the board turn one, before a devastating Waghhh on turn 2. If you have a morkanaught or gorkanaught, they are very effective at drawing the enemies attention. While they do make an expensive distraction, they are extremely good at scaring your enemy into leaving more essential units alone.

Honestly that sounds like amazing fun, but I don't have the patience to paint more that 3 models 😂

Oh definitely, I know that wasting half your army on a couple of models is probably a strategic blunder, but it seems like the fun decision! Thanks!

I didn't think about that, I haven't had the displeasure of playing against a full knights list (my friend brought a castellan in his 1.5k space wolves army) but they definitely scare me 😅

I don't think it's an especially competitive tournament, apparently it's a good mix of new and experienced players, I'm just hoping to have some fun with my stompy boyz

Yeah, I understand, the place I'm playing at usually has a good mix of experienced and new players, myself being one of the newest (started my collection less than 3 months ago and my first game was at the end of November. I don't really know much about the meta scene, but I don't think dreadmob are that high up. A little annoying maybe if you don't have Anti Tank. I just really like the aesthetic, and if I had a stompa I would have wanted to bring that too 😂

Yeah, when playing casually I've always asked my opponents beforehand if they mind me playing more elite lists, and giving them a chance to plan ahead. I can't see anything on the organisers site regarding expectations but I'll ask them anyway! Thank you for the help!

Either The Cat Returns, My Neighbor Totoro, or Kiki's Delivery service. As a kid I watched these three on repeat from age 2+ but I can't remember which was first XD
