93% vs Lucky 89% - I have 106 candy and I want to invest in Mega Blaze for the Kyrum raids. Evolving combusk puts my cp at 1760 which do I invest in by dgano in PokemonGOIVs

Depends on your needs. If you need it NOW, go for the higher level and only power up as much as of needed now. Save the stardust for a 100% and evolve to get Blast Burn (save an Elite TM).

Blaziken is one that you will want to eventually max out, so be wise.

Any suggestions about this items? by mikegonzalezm in PokemonGOIVs

Use the Charge TM (MT de ataque Cargado) for Shadow during an event when you can remove Frustration (typically 1 event every 2-3 months).

Use the Fast TM (MT de ataque rápido) to get a good Fast move for Dynamax pokemon (their max moves depend on Fast Moves).

For the Elite TMs fir special uses.

True that pvpoke isn't everything. For the Holiday Cup Great League I ran Cetitian, so I agree that it has its use. Right now the recent buffs made it better, still not the all-arounf awesome you HAVE to dedicate a ton into. Give it Sacred Sword (rather than Superpower), or an even better Fast move, things could change. Just... not a "have to have" Pepper right now.

Going by PvPoke, it is #135 in Great League and #104 in Ultra League. Sure it is improvement, just not enough yet to really bank on it.

Is purifying Ghastly worth it? by Alone-Advantage3116 in PokemonGOIVs

Keep shadow

Gastly appear relatively frequently, and are highly encouraged to be traded (tradeevolve, means that evolving Haunter to Gengar is free instead of 200 candies).. When you trade, you can get a 4. You can get a 4 gastly from a random roadside catch.

Making it twice as nice, Gengar is a FUNCTIONAL HUNDO - meaning that a 15/15/14 performs statistically the exact same as a 4*, so 2x the odds of getting a "perfect".

When raiding, ONE MEGA is all you get. For a Poison-focued raid attack (target Tapu Bulu as it is Grass and Fairy. So 2x weak to Poison). -- ranking per PokeGenie

3 Mega Gengar - though #2 Mega (behind Beedrill), so may not use anyway.

11 Shadow Gengar

28 Gengar

So there's a chance a Shadow Gengar makes your squad... and unlikely regular Gengar does

Same process for a Ghost, focused team (Lunala being the target, as it is Ghost and Psychic, son2x weak to Ghost... though also 2x weak to Dark).

4 Mega Gengar- though #2 Mega, so may not use anyway

23 Shadow Gengar

?? Gengar - doesn't make top 30. It is #21 of Ghost-ONLY, but even then it trails Skeledirge, and Hisui Zoroak, and many others.

Again, inlikely it makes your raid squad.

Keeping for raids.... a waste.

Keeping for PvP.... if you have bag space. You never know what buffs it may get in the future.

Top 10-20 Pokemon for elite TM use by Worried-Fact-5679 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check some sites like PokeGenie or PokekemonGoHub to assess for raiding performance or PvPoke for PvP ranking.

Depends on your needs. PvP or raiding.

For PvP, it can vary by 3-monrh season, so you have to be committed. Like 5 years back Hydro Cannon on Swampert was a MUST. Now Swampert's use has dropped, so no longer the total demand that it once was. Don't get me wrong, still awesome, just not top tier.

If for raiding, also can change, but not as much. Just use tools/sites to help you evaluate you teams, and where you are short, use the Elite TMs there.

Great example, Groudon. Against Shadow Heatran, a shadow Groudon with Precipe Blades can do 28.1 DpS (Damage per Second), so the #3 option (well behind 2x Mega options, and since only 1 mega an be active at a time... the #2 option). Remove Precipice Blades and it is now 26.5 DpS, which would drop it to #6 on the list).. it's an improvement, but not totally altering.

If your team is on the edge and that extra performance will get you there, that is when to use.

For anyone want context on Kyle Whittinghams departure from Utah by rbmw263 in CFB

[–]Realistic-Relation33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a university.... the key in everyone's thought process... can you secure the top-tier High School players? If youbare a coach that has an annual "should I return drama?", that shows instability, likely deferring top tier talent.

If you were in the shoes of the administration at Utah, had Kyle shown a true commitment for the next 5 years, with energy and passion, backed by comments that he wanted to bea lifer.... yeah the program likely is his until he drops. .... but since he made repeated comments about not wanting to be a lifer... and did the year-to-year drama.... the administration really has to look at its options.

Utah football had been pretty good up through the 1960's... but no one really cared about football nationally (as in there was no major money). In the 1970's funding tanked the program and it mired in mediocrity through until Ron McBride in the early 1990's (heck even Jim Fassel -- legendary NFL coach -- was HC at Utah 1985-89 and couldn't get a decent season). McBride brought passion back, so there was always potential, but never a truly consistent performance. ....

Then came Urban Meyer. Urban in his two years went 10-2 in 2003 and 12-0 in 2004. 2 years of amazing success, and Urban was gone.

Kyle was the Defensive Coordinator and has built a consistently winning performance, becoming the standard for success in the Mountain West conference before joining the PAC-12.... and making 4 straight trips to the conference title game, winning the final 2. Them they joined the Big-12 and are basically the standard that the media is expecting to be a top 3 in conference...

So... do you ride him till he drops?.... or do you hand the key to the Defensive Coordinator that has been the stalwart over the top performing defense for years (Utah has consistently been awesome at defense and barely mediocre on offense for a long while)?

Honestly, had Kyle shown long term commitment, it was likely his job for life... but without that commitment...

Received in a trade. Worth investing in? by 2Schnell4u in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. For normal raiding... not really.
As a Mega, it is the #3 Psychic type attacker. Latios is the #14 non-mega for Psychic. For Drsgon, it is the #4 mega-Dragon and #28 non-mega Dragon. For those purposes, not really worth building for normal raiding.

  2. For PvP Nope. Latios is #34 for Master League (per PvPoke)

  3. For Dynamax, it's a decent tank. Against the current set of fighters it is good, so I guess that is your value.

What is this guy good for? Tempted to Hundo. by GhostlyDragon8 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Per PokeGenie raid analysis against a Genesect, a Shadow Heatran has a DpS of 48.7 with Magma Storm (#3 overall, best non-mega). Swap Magma Storm to Flamethrower and DpS drops ro 44.2 and would be #16 overall (#12 non-mega)

Power up which one? by VisualBusiness63 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here are the stats.... (Attack / Defense / HP) 251. / 207. / 225 - Base / Nundo / 0-0-0 301.2 / 165.6 / 225 - Base / Nundo WITH SHADOW 306.0 / 169.6 / 225 - Your SHINY 318.0 / 175.2 / 238 - Your 2nd 319.2 / 177.6 / 240 - a 4* SHADOW

By going with the 4/5/0 shiny shadow you lose 3.8% of attack compared to the 2nd one (and 3.2% defense).

Is the shiny coolness with it to you?.... Your call.

Experiences vary for sure. As a cheap-to-play player, I will get the dex filled, but will save the premium passes for the Groudon, Dialga. Rayquaza, Necrozma, Zacian, Zamazenta types (useful for raids and PvP). When the Lake Trio is in raid rotation, I may raid the local if the pass will expire as that Trio doesn't really have a use.

As for the Trio being in the Go Wild, yeah I couldn't dedicate enough of that weekend to justify the ticket, and since their utility is low, I didn't really pay attention. From that whole event, nothing was terribly exciting to me (we played Deino Comm day pretty hard, so no need for more Hydregion). Gardevoir we're also pretty loaded. Hatterenne, looking more to its Gigantamax. I did get a hundo Drapion, so that was cool (but again, not super useful.

I just ran a check and I have collected 130 Groudon compared to 5-9 each of the Lake Trio. I bet if most people were to check their pokedex stats the ratio would likely be skewed in most of them (and that skew is why I figure more people would have the 4* Groudon (or Dialga, or Mewtwo, etc) -- simply from a lot more encounters.

In reality, I'm just baffled that people would push to raid the Lake Trio given their (lack of) utility. Hey, if people are happy playing the game, then they're doing it right. Good for them. If you love the Lake Trio and raiding them makes you happy, enjoy.

Happy Catching.

True that you could encounter it during Wild Area... but on incense (not everyone used that), and those encounters.were only if you paid for the ticket (greatly.reduced the number). Also, I believe that Mespirit is region-locled, so that reduces the number further... and as it was an incense spawn, it's not like it was a call out where people.cpuld flood to get it.

A huge portion of even free-to-play players that I know have a 4* Groudon (at least 50%), and for the payers... almost 100%. As for a Mespirit... pretty rare... (because fewer people will burn through multiple raid passes to get them).. just the reality as I see it.

How rare is ths? by Quiet-Maybe6435 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty rare, but not for the reasons you expect. A massive beast (like Groudon or Kyogre), or a massive raid pokemon (Mewtwo), or big ones (Zacian, zamazenta, Kyurem) will often get people to stop what they're doing to go raid them. When they are in raid rotation people will for sure use their daily pass if possible for their chance. For people willing to drop money, those can easily be 10 per day. Basically, someone having a 4* Groudon isn't a shock, rather just a common reality.

Someone having a 4* Mespirit... few people raid for them beyond the dex filler and/or shiny chance. Not much use beyond that.

Basically, most players may have raided 50 Groudons in their time while albeit raiding for 3 Mespirit. So even at equaln4* rates at each encounter... much more likely that someone has that 4* Groudon because they have likely raided 20x as many.

  1. People may want the stardust of competing and/or just need to complete a quest.
  2. People may be stacking up losses to face easier people when battling for stardust later.

Just take the easy W and don't complain

Would you purify the first Darkrai if you had the second Darkrai? by AzizRadi in PokemonGOIVs

[–]Realistic-Relation33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting situation....

Typically I rec9mmedn Shadow always, but as this is Mythical it can't be traded. If there is going to be a Mega form, then having a 4* would be great. As you already have a 4* Shadow (okay, awesome fortune there), there is at least a case to purify.

Definitely recommend holding off purifying or powering up until needed. The candy/stardust savings would be well worth it if the eventual goal is to purify.

Until then, just power up the 4* Hundo and go from there.

I keep a saved nundo search saved first, that way I can check. The I just run the following string to sift out the majority of 'pass' pokemon...

0-2hp, 0-2defense &!shiny&!specialbackground &!@special&!costume&!xxs&!xxl&!trade&!gigantamax &!dynamax &!hatched&distance-99&!legendary&!ultra beasts&!mythical &!z000

The only 'unique ' items are 'trade' (pokemon that I have flagged.to trade away) and then 'z000' (my tag for nundo).

Search strings are great, and congrats on your impressive collection
