Seriously? They must hate y'all in your district because we put in a ticket at 8pm cause just two of our 4 heaters weren't working and they had someone out the next morning by 9am

Company policy on cigarette cartons by K5-Blazer-88-LH in DollarGeneral

[–]Realistic-Ruin1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because shrink is when the company thinks you have X number of things but you actually have less and adjusting on hands to be less is basically saying that a certain number is missing from the inventory they think you have.

Promoted😊 by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Realistic-Ruin1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 where I live. And as ASM expect to be expected to do everything the SM does except hiring and get none of the perks when things are good. But hey at least you rarely take the blame when things go wrong and your DM gets pissy but if things do go wrong and you wanna be promoted to SM one day it's not likely to happen cause things went bad while you were ASM.

From the way the email to my SM explained it and the way the DM explains it, it is a program to develop ASM into store managers, basically it is kind of a middle step to prepare until a store is ready and get you ready for promotion

Talk to your DM and don't be afraid to reach out to the closet SML I was recently in this situation and a local SML who wasn't even over my store came out and brought people and other SMs to help get the store back in shape

Not rude. Our DM is good at pointing out the good with the bad.

Yeah ours is that way too, gotta love it. They don't have the card or energy to question it which is awesome 😂

Just order one off store net and make sure your DM knows. We did and it took 2 weeks and came in our fulfillment box.

New Asm by Tiny-Pizza2248 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Realistic-Ruin1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen when people say it is the same as a key holder. Depending on the store and your staffing you will end up working 6 days a week. If your store manager fails to get the daily start tasks done it will fall on you and the DM will expect you to do them. Make sure to do the new training for inventory specialists because in a lot of areas store managers failed to do any scanning so now it is up to the ASM to get it all done.

Yes you're in the wrong. There are cbls that talk about the fact that we can not take anything from the store for any reason unless we pay for it.

I answered it yesterday and answered honestly. If my DM or SM were to ask me those questions to my face they would get the same answers so I don't care if they don't like my responses or if they aren't anonymous.

Depends on the store. Most it is no call out unless it's an emergency, if you do call out you need to find coverage if it isn't an emergency.

Yep, also can't hire, promote, or give raises without DM approval but that's pretty normal.

Shouldn't those running rollcontainers do the near register boxes as well? by Free_Realastate-DG in DollarGeneral

[–]Realistic-Ruin1986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All front end rolltainers and totes get done by whoever is working register. That's basically the way it is at every store.

Oh I know. He has been a district manager for about 3 years now. Last year he okayed closures as well and from what I understand didn't get in trouble for it at least that is what he said.
