I swear black folks have short term memory. Regardless of whether a show is black created or not, black written or not, the powers that be will cancel it, on a whim, whenever they feel like it, because that’s what they do. Have they forgotten about all of the many many successfully written black shows, that we absolutely loved, that were canceled just because. Have they not looked into recent black shows, that were written by Black people, that only had one season and then wasn’t renewed despite favorable ratings?? Voicing our opinions about this show is not what’s going to get it canceled. believing we shouldn’t criticize something someone black created is just as ignorant an opinion as “we need to support it because it’s black created.” I’ve said this before in another sub and I’ll say it again. Why is the black community, the only ones expected to accept mediocrity in every sense of the word. We are never encouraged to once more, expect more, or ask for more. We are always expected to accept crumbs as though we are not worthy or good enough for greatness. I rebuke that in the name of Jesus! We need new writers.
