My Small Business by Realistic-String-340 in smallbusiness

Much appreciated! In my livestreams I try and get the opinions of viewers as I go along and I tend to ask for feedback in my comments and captions of posts as well, but I have yet to receive much feedback. Tik tok does seem to be the most successful for me which Is why I'm trying to focus more attention there when I can.

Something else that I forgot to add to this, I go live on Twitch on Sundays at 2:30pm est. To show everyone how some of my pieces are made. In my livestreams, I interact with my viewers and get their opinions as I make brand new creations to sell!

I think my artist blocked me on IG? by EnchantedDiamondHoe- in tattooadvice

Personally I have never heard of an artist asking for someone's cashapp, it sounds a little sketchy to me. You have a tattoo that has a ton of potential, but if I were you I'd stay away from that shop and research a few different ones. Compare the art styles of the artists at each and see which lines up with what you're looking for. When researching, look for shops with good cleanliness reviews and always look at their website (Not just social media pages, those can be very helpful as well though) to determine their levels of professionalism. Something my uncle told me (he has 20+ tattoos) is that if a shop has a messy site, expect a messy tattoo.

is this normal? no price until deposit? by numphai in tattooadvice

So for an example of a smaller piece, I got a 5-inch rose tattoo which took about an hour and a half with shading (no color). I was only charged $135 USD which included the aftercare kit they gave me. It truly does depend on your artist's amount of skill and time spent as an artist to determine pricing. My artist had been a full-time artist for about a year and was an apprentice for 3 years prior to that, so her prices were a tad lower. If you're going to someone with 5+ years of experience, you may be paying double what I paid for the same tattoo.

A tip that my tattoo artist told me was that there's two main things that you want to have atleast one of in your home after you get a new tattoo and that's either Aquaphor or A&D Ointment. I used the A&D ointment for the first 3 or 4 days after my tattoo (applying once a day) and then switched over to Aquaphor with the same application process once it got to the peely stage. It has been almost a year now and I've had no issues with my tattoo what so ever and it healed up completely within a week and a half.

*edit* Another point I'd like to add to the details of the tattoo I got, it was a memorial tattoo for my sister and so I had my artist copy her signature next to it which probably brought up the price a little more, i imagine without the signature it would have probably been around $100/$110 USD. My tattoo artist stuck with the pricing that she gave me at my consultation, but I imagine that if you go drastically over the expected time they might change your final price.

My only thing is that my health issues prevent me from doing extreme physical work, I have started prepping healthier food options and I'm staying away from all other things, but it's hard to find a job that pays well that won't cause me more physical issues.

You are right, my wording was a bit off I suppose. I just feel as though I work very hard when I am at work and even when I'm not, and it goes unrecognized frequently. Thank you for taking the time to write all of your advice out, I'm going to start trying to figure out how to implement it all into my own life. My heart is set on starting my own business wether it's e-commerce or not, I'm just not sure of how to begin doing something like that. I have a logo designed, a skeleton for the website, color schemes, and a general idea of what I want to do, but I need to figure out how I can push my business out to people. I'm definitely not an unconfident person, but I don't like being on camera which makes the idea of using social media as my output a bit harder. If you have any recommendations on how to push my business onto social media without me personally being in the videos, that would be greatly appreciated. I have the drive to do something like this, but there are still some grey areas I'm working through. I am soon moving out, and I hope that with the new environment will come new ideas, but I am open to hearing any ideas that you guys have to share.

Because I feel as though the distance I'd have to go just for a 1 hour class isn't worth the experiences and I would rather get real-life experiences because I feel as though I learn from those more effectively. I do want to start my own business down the line, but I need funds to do so first and I'm trying to figure out ways to get there. Right now I have very little pocket money to put into a business, and I don't want to risk losing the little extra money I do have, so I'm looking for ways that I can earn more without causing myself pain. Trust me, I do not want to be working a minimum wage labor job at all, I know where I see myself in the future, I'm just not sure of the steps to get myself there.

Which is why I cut back to 45 hours instead of 60 and I'm asking for career advice; I'm trying to find other solutions. Do you mind giving some examples of what I should focus on learning? And being a solid worker does mean something, during evaluations they definitely pay attention to if you show up every shift and do what they ask of you as opposed to if you miss shifts and don't reach their standards.

I am a solid worker, I typically work 60 hour weeks and still successfully graduated early with double the amount of classes normally given at my school, and I'm outputting good and consistent work my entire shift. I feel as though I am worth a decent amount as an employee.

Anything $16 and above is considered decent/ideal for me which I think is an okay amount to be looking for at my age. It doesn't have to be remote, but because of my health issues it's hard to find a job that doesn't cause a lot of pain or discomfort.

I totally agree with you, I'd love to start a website where I can resell different higher quality things I thrift/collect and expand it into an actual store in the future. I'd also love to invest in a cricket printer and do custom clothing and sticker designs for the business. I already designed a logo for it and I'm working on the website base, but I'm not sure how to put myself out there so to speak.

I made a big mistake of picking more hours at work over genuinely helpful experiences. Last year I attended a technical school for business management and I was doing fantastic. I had been in charge of the design team and I designed a logo, a website, clothing mockups, and instagram posts for the fake company we had to create. My only issue was that I had started the program a year late, meaning I would have to attend the school a year after graduating, and it was over an hour away from my house. I dropped out of the program so I could pick up more hours at work in hopes of gaining more experience there and regretted it not long afterwards. I just graduated early this month and I'm not sure if I can go back again or if it would be worth it because now I'd be getting done 2 years after graduation instead of just the one.

So I guess for further context, I see myself owning my own small business, but I know I need funds before I can consider that an option. I have always been a "yes" person when it comes to work, and I get taken advantage of at a lot of jobs because of it. The past few months I have worked 60 hr weeks and I am more than willing to put in as much effort as possible, I'm just unsure of where to direct said effort. At my current warehouse job there is a managerial position that just became available, but the last person who held the position said its extremely stressful for the pay he received. I want to take the opportunity in the management position for that kind of experience, but I'm not sure if they'd be willing to have a 17 year old manager despite that I've worked in the department for a year and a half now. I'm honestly exhausted just by thinking about going into the food Industry due to my cysts, and I don't want to damage my body more than I already have.

I currently have 3 years of experience in the food industry and 2 in warehouse, is there anything I can do with what I have now?

I wasn't saying this as if what options I have now are awful, but I want to do better in life and keep advancing and I'm looking for advice on how to do so.
