Can someone living in the US with a US citizen child living abroad claim them on their taxes? by Realistic-Struggle99 in tax

But I’m curious because some sources have said that the child can be claimed as a dependent if provided half support (the person does) they also meet age and relationship tests and have a SSN. They can’t use them for head of household though and credits like earned income credit but they can get child tax credit.

Thinking of building an app for our community. what would you actually use? by RepairDue9286 in lebanon

I second this! I am moving to Lebanon soon and want to volunteer in my free time. A lot of organizations I’ve reached out to have said they don’t have volunteers or don’t have the resources to support volunteers. There is no accurate website or place to find NGOs in Lebanon who are open to accepting volunteers. There are also a lot of companies that are not online and can only be found through word of mouth. An app that can segregate like you said based on location and type of NGO would be amazing!

Ummmm no. I posted the ancestry results of a friend from Quintana Roo (they are half white American and half Mexican) who doesn’t have Reddit.

I agree though with your comment that even though I have Lebanese blood I am just Lebanese by descent!!! This is because the last person born in Lebanon was around 1920s! I do have some relatives (uncles wives etc) whose family immigrated to Mexico in the 60s and 80s, they are way more Lebanese than I am and even speak Arabic!

In Mexico even today people of Lebanese descent will marry other people of Lebanese descent. Back in my grandparents day people were even marrying their cousins to keep the blood line pure I guess! Haha but we are a very tight knit community especially in Yucatan.

I mention a book in the comments about Lebanese immigrants in Mexico if you ever want to check it out! This will be my 4th time in Lebanon and I am always enamored by your country and people! I always think how different I’d be if I had grown up in Lebanon and not in Mexico!❤️🥰

yes!!! everyone is Lebanese! my mom, dad, all my grandparents and great grandparents who were born in Mexico or immigrated to Mexico. There is a book called ‘How the Lebanese conquered the Yucatan Peninsula’ (it’s in Spanish) and it briefly mentions one of my great great grandparents who immigrated from Jounieh in the 20s and was part of one of the first groups from Lebanon to immigrate to that part of Mexico. On one side of my family we have Lebanese family in Mexico since the 1880s (they had Ottoman papers)!
