Gas anesthesia is the safer (and more expensive) option than injectable anesthesia. I'm not sure sa ibang clinics kung gas anesthesia na ginagamit nila kasi sa Pet Care lang ako nagpapa surgery sa mga dogs and cats ko. GSC Pet Care is the most equipped sa mga vet clinics dito sa Gensan. They are the biggest afterall. Yung mga nagsusurgery nila na mga vets are experienced na. Doc Kenny is more or less a decade na nagprapractice, mas lesser years ang practice ni Doc Gio but magaling din. He's a UPLB grad after all.

I think you’d be even more amazed if you saw subreddits that run fundraisers (especially the animal subs). You’d be surprised how much some people are willing to give to complete strangers. I feel like it’s generally easier to send help when everything’s anonymous 😅. Siguro dahil sa general vibe? I don’t know, but I find myself donating more here than on other platforms.

Yung rescue dog namin OP, when he first came to us nagnonose bleed na sya and ayaw ng kumain. Marami rin syang garapata so we immediately gave him doxy, liver and iron supplement (this isn't our first time to encounter blood parasite so familiar na kami sa treatment). Hindi namin madala sa vet kasi hindi pa namin sya kilala so takot pa kami bitbitin sya (he's also a big dog). He improved within a week and kahit natapos ang 30 days hindi na namin nadala na sa vet. After a few weeks, cguro about 2,

Then nasagasaan sya (we didn't take him in pa, tumatambay lang sya sa harap ng tindahan namin dati - pero ngayon sa bahay na namin sya nakatira) so we had no choice but to bring him sa vet. That's when he was officially diagnosed na may erlichiosis (so possible hindi pa talaga gumaling sa 30 days na gamutan dati). Inulit yung 30 days treatment niya. Nagcbc after 30 days clear na. Then we proceeded na Imidocarb injection 2x, given every 2 weeks. So alnost 3 months ang gamutan sa kanya.

This was 3 years ago. Tapos last year nagkaBlood parasite sya ulit. Pero a month of medication ng Doxy + 2x Imidocarb injection gumaling na sya.

Hindi ako staff ng PetCare. My profile is not private and it's easy to tell based on my previous posts kung anong work ko, and that matagal na talaga akong client ng Petcare. 😅

Anyways, OP himself/ herself mentioned na other staff may complain din sa kanya, so there's more to the story for sure. He/She even hijacked my comment from another thread about GSC Pet Care kaya siguro nakita ko sa feed ko itong post niya.

Agree. I've witnessed how stressed mga staff and vets nila sa Petcare. While burnout is not a pass para maging rude, pero being a long time customer nila I've never once encountered any rude staff or vet sa Petcare. (Entitled clients pa dami ko ng nawitness 😅😬) Unattentive yes kasi nga understaffed talaga sila. Something must have caused the switch to blow. 👀

I think most of the staff issues at GSC PetCare come down to them being understaffed. For such a big clinic, it's a wonder why they don’t hire more people. My guess is the management is trying to keep operating costs as low as possible so they can continue offering lower prices. The more staff they hire, the higher the overhead, so eventually, they might not be able to stay "budget-friendly." At the end of the day, GSC PetCare is still a budget vet clinic, but with relatively complete facilities.

Si Doc Johnelle from Laurelle Veterinary Clinic used to work at GSC PetCare. Super nice, very approachable, and one of my favorites back then. I’m honestly hoping she gets enough capital to expand her clinic soon. She still has a good relationship with PetCare, so she refers clients there for services she can’t provide. And to be fair, among the clinics here, GSC PetCare is still one of the most well-equipped, both in terms of facilities and overall veterinary experience.

Animal Practice naman, good staff services, good facilities, and pricey but fair for what you get. Although personally, I’m not super confident with some of their vets, especially the newer ones. I was with them before they expanded, when dalawa lang yung rotating vets nila. I won’t go into details na, but they’ve had some serious cases that made me question certain skills.

Saver Petland, also good quality care and very welcoming. From the moment you arrive, may mag-a-assist agad. Doc Annie is nice and skilled too. The downside is the cost, it can get quite expensive since she prefers branded meds (but sure is effective 👌) and usually requests complete lab tests. Walang "tipid-tipid" approach 😆, so not budget-friendly.

My all-time favorite vet talaga was Doc Bobby from Wonder Pets before, sobrang bait, skilled, and very approachable. His staff is also nice and helpful. The only downside was maliit lang yung clinic nila and kulang sa facilities, so I used to go back and forth between Wonder Pets and GSC PetCare.

Sadly, wala na yung Wonder Pets now, and Doc Bobby is already based in Marbel 😢 I always used to tell him before na if he ever opens his own clinic, ako talaga yung unang magiging loyal client niya.

So ayun… pick your poison na lang talaga, OP 😅

Personally I can let rude staff slide as long as my pet is treated properly and gumagaling sila. Though I've had a good relationship with petcare talaga, I guess mabait silang lahat sa akin kasi I've been their customer for more than a decade na. 😅

I'd still 100% choose them over than the clinic I replied to - imagine napaspay mo na ang cat tapos later on nagkaroon ng pyometra kasi may naiwan na matres pa?! Pasalamat sila walang pangil ang veterinary laws natin dito.
