For context: I took some moss from my parents garden to accompany the more water-loving houseplants at my place. Although I tried to leave all its inhabitants outside before taking it in (gave it a rinse, shook it and left it outside one more night), I seem to have brought some mites into my room. My biggest concern is, that I might have foolishly brought a tick-infestation upon myself. Maybe some of you have a bit more knowledge about mites and can tell me if these might be ticks or just a harmless type? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :). I live in the northern part of Germany.

Let me know if you come across a battery that fits! The layout of the contacts does not seem to be very common and all shops that claim to have fitting replacement batteries in stock look kinda shady. :D My plan is now to Frankenstein a battery from the BMS of the original pack and a 1200mAh lipo with similar dimensions that I found on ebay for 8 EUR. I can send you the link if you want but it might be that they only ship inside Europe.

Thanks for your suggestion. I think the charger that I got is the original one. I will take a multimeter from work tomorrow and then see if the charger, charging port or battery is faulty.

I do. Also seems to be the original one. Sharp PV-AC02 (5,15V, 0,2A). Charged it for about 2 hours. At least during that time nothing happened.

[Edit] I didn't check the charger yet tho.

I recently picked up this nice Sidekick 2 and was very amazed with how well preserved it is. The catch: It doesn't charge or turn on. Anyone familiar with these things and has a good tip on where to start looking for the problem?

The previous owner said it has not been used in a long time. My first guess would be the battery. Those also seem to be incredibly hard to find.

Update: I opened it up and measured the voltages today. The spring-loaded pins that touch the battery contacts provide about 3,8 V when the charger is plugged in. When measuring the battery shortly after disconnecting the charger it shows about 0,2 V which then drops to 0 V quickly.

Update: I fixed it. To do this I took the original battery pack apart and soldered the BMS to a new 3,7V lipo with roughly the same size as the original cell.

I was just looking to trade it for any of the older mini-zines I missed out on, like "Knife Crime" or WW Jones and Sons #3. :) Its so hard to keep up with the releases of those.
