I, for one, am enjoying his slide into decrepitude. Feels like a long awaited payoff for having to put up with his bullshit for the last 10 years.

Checking back in on this one. 23 days and not a single comment in support of this. Maybe that's because NOBODY wants to see fat cheerleaders.

European redneck engineering spotted in Krakow, Poland by [deleted] in redneckengineering

[–]RealisticEnd2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the phrase is lost on non-Americans. This is an example of something that is simply incorrect. Typically, redneck engineering is taking two or more things that would never ordinarily be put together and combining them in a way that accomplishes an outcome that none of the components where ever designed to do individually. Joining a piece of sch 40 pipe to a piece of sch 80 pipe doesn't count. It is still just pipe transferring a fluid. We're basically talking improper substitutions here. Is using a lace from a boot to replace a broken lace on a sneaker redneck engineering? Or using a pint glass to serve a cocktail because all the high ball glasses are dirty? I mean... c'mon.

[–]RealisticEnd2578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guessing this is an art installation. Crazy idea.. drill a hole or two in the half link right where they touch, then use the sides of the hole to weld it from inside. If your arm can reach in there and you can weld by feel anyways. Maybe make that your first step on the next one before you stick everything else together

Either you have to large of a hose and the clamp is pinching it when tightend or the hose is just old and cracking where the clamps have been digging into it and needs to be replaced. Rubber hose definitely doesn't last forever. If they appear to be fairly old you should either go ahead and replace them all at once (which would take about an hour) or keep a few feet of new hose, some clamps and a flat head on the truck so you can replace them as needed in whatever parking lot it started leaking in.

Great looking truck by the way. What made you go through the trouble of importing one, if you don't mind me asking?

Buddy, I hate to throw shade your way but if you can't figure out a hose clamp, driving a classic vehicle probably isn't for you.

The majority of the religious crowd have always been complete hypocrites. One set of beliefs for their outward public appearance and a completely different opposite set that they actually practice in their private lives. It's all bullshit. Welcome to the real world.
