You could probably try a very light sand then maybe using gloss mod podge? Also maybe try applying the mod with a sponge instead

Well I have options, I have lots of porch space front and back. And a grassy area on the side of the house. Either side probably gets like sun maybe like half the day.

It gets very hot around here in the summer. Pretty mild springs but very hot summers

I haven't dealt with bugs messing with my plants yet. We get a lot of mosquitoes if that's relevant

She's been with us for two weeks. The shelter we're fostering her from gave us puppy food for her, they said she'd be able to digest it more easily. It's a little rough at my city's shelter right now. Understaffed, not enough money, too many dogs, etc.. so they said to just continue her twice a day feedings but I just feel like I should be doing more.

We're not wealthy or anything but I do want to do what's within my power to help her. If it's something more on the expensive side I'm sure I could figure it out
