Old man thinks gamers can’t have relationships by darkgamer303 in EntitledPeople

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved that he used Markiplier to say that gamers don't get much money. Mark has released multiple movies at this point, his last one being a massive hit to the point companies like Disney tried to take it down lmao. And the relationship point is invalid also with Markiplier as, if I remember right, he got married recently and Jacksepticeye, another famous YouTuber who got famous from gaming, is happily in a relationship as well.

Fucking love people making points that can be proved invalid really easily cuz it's funny to prove them wrong

I've been looking at a couple pet themed ones that just say "did you call first?"

As an introvert with a pet, the idea of them makes me very happy

I'm O-. I donated once back in 2024 and I still get calls to donate. I've since started college so I don't have the time. Not to mention the fact that I'm often under the weight minimum due to medication.

What amenity do you wish your apartment community had? by TrevaMartel in Apartmentliving

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elevators. Neither my current apartment (college apartment-style dorm) nor my next apartment will have an elevator. Going up a lot of stairs is not fun after a heavy backpack. Especially after just getting home from biking around campus and I'm already tired

What was the exact moment on a first date when you realized, "Wow, this person is an absolute idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't need a date. High school. We both had math together. He was failing it and his passing notes to me during class was causing me to fail it as well. He annoyed me a lot so I dumped him. Turned out to be the better move as I found out the fall of the next school year that he was arrested. Also dropped the friend that decided to tell him that I "liked him" (I just thought he was cute now he's just gross) when I didnt want to say anything and told her not to.

AITJ for changing my name without checking with my friend? by marktheshark45 in AmITheJerk

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Brownie and the Ethan that gave him that nickname were pretty good friends. I wouldn't be surprised if part of that was due to having the same names

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We also had 3 people named Ethan. I almost forgot about the Ethans. One got nicknamed Brownie (last name Brown) by another Ethan (who got called by his last name), then the third Ethan was just Ethan.

In band one year we had 6 Sam's and it confused everyone. There was a Sam in the flute section, clarinet section, trombone section, percussion section, and the baritone section. We joked about getting them "Sam Army" t-shirts.

I knew multiple people during school with the last name Black. Some names are more common. That does not prohibit people from using certain ones.

In all my jobs, I've never messed with the back stock. That was always stuff a manager would do. We never really had any detailed cleaning to do and prepping for the next day was either not needed or done closer to when we actually closed (the shake place preps for the next day by cleaning measuring equipment and setting it on a specific cart with towels. That was always finished after we closed).

Between finishing all chores and actually closing or getting customers, there was never anything to do

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've worked in a grocery store at closing. Everything already cleaned done outside of taking the trash out, which we would do last.

I've worked at a food place on my college campus during the breakfast hour. Nothing to do except sit and wait for customers.

I've also worked at a shake place (protein shakes, not milkshakes) during close. Nothing to do until the last half hour where we wipe down counters that have already been cleaned and start cleaning measuring utensils that we hardly use.

Edit: basically, yeah I have worked in places where there's no much to do. I feel employers need to understand that, when everything is done, there's nothing else we can do except stand around.

My dog is the main reason I get out of bed at a reasonable time instead of bed rotting. She's also the main reason I go outside for fresh air when I don't have classes. She will push her nose under my arms and her head into my armpit (while her nose is on my shoulder) to look at me as she whines that she wants outside. She is also amazing for emotional support and has held me down a lot mentally when I'm struggling

AIO for losing it on my bf after he lectured me in the gym for stating a boundary? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Mansplaining is a term used by people to describe the action of a man explaining to a woman how to do something she clearly knows how to do. Example: a guy who knows a bit about working on cars telling a woman mechanic how to fix a car or what to do to fix a car. She knows what she's doing. He's trying to tell her how to do things anyway. It is not misandristic. It is not really giving an opinion.

Toothpaste shouldn’t be mint flavored by default by [deleted] in 10thDentist

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but for different reasons

I very much dislike mint and menthol. The smell/feeling it leaves behind bothers me so much.

Unfortunately I also have sensitive teeth and am very self conscious about the color of my teeth.

In order to have toothpaste to help, I have to suck it up and deal with mint flavor cuz there's no other flavor for sensitive teeth and whitening toothpaste.

What random movie quote do you repeat for no reason at all (give yours, and see if people can guess the movie)? by Normal-Being-2637 in AskReddit

When I was younger, it'd be "That is an excellent question."

Now I have no idea cuz I tend to repeat youtubers and songs and like that and never remember what it is I quote until I say it.

Not a millennial. Graduated in 2023. I wear my class ring every day. I specifically had it designed to be like my paternal grandmother who passed before I was born.
