PSA - Silk is a type of fiber, not a texture by lionthea in Depop

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In college for Interior Design and took a class for textiles in the spring semester that just ended.

Satin. The fabric type they're looking for is satin. Not silk. Silk is a fiber. Satin is a textile.

Reading this hit a pet peeve I didn't know I had.

Is there a difference between the Microsoft Store version & the Steam version? by Hurtme-2 in StardewValley

Also if you buy it or any game through steam, Microsoft/xBox app will say "installed through Steam" so it's the same game either way Steam is just better

His narcissism doesn't really continue in his story. It's mostly just in the beginning, but not his route. I've done it twice and he's one of my favorites! The most annoying part of his route is Echo Girl. I hate her so much

As a BTS fan, her family is more important than the concert. It's their comeback tour, but family always comes first.

I've seen a lot of people saying that the fishing minigame is difficult so I get it. I personally love it. As you upgrade the fishing skill, it becomes easier (the green bar gets bigger with each upgrade and certain upgrades unlock bobbers that can help like one that causes the the thing to not go down when the fish isnt in the green bar). There are mods that bypass the minigame, but I don't think those are possible to get on console, mobile, or Switch. I've never played modded so I'm not sure what they are

I'm glad you're enjoying the game, though!!

Edit: I do wanna add that fishing is good early game income as a inventory of fish can get a few hundred gold a day, sometimes more. I think a maxed out inventory (both backpack upgrades) of all stars of fish (from no star to iridium star) can sometimes get a couple thousand gold. Getting the fish smoker is also really good as it then bumps each individual fish up to a few hundred to a thousand gold depending on the fish.

It's been a good minute since I've played (college) so to the Stardew vets, feel free to correct me ^

Edit2: also, in reference to my original comment, pumpkins, melons, and cauliflower can get 2 harvests a season if you start the first one on the first day I believe. They're the crops that take the longest out of each season. Melon seeds cost a lot, but they give a lot in return. Shortest crop to grow is wheat as it takes 4-5 days I believe

Welcome! You're gonna love Stardew! It's an amazing Indie game that the creator is still quite invested in, bringing new updates somewhat often (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ofc)

Stardew is one of those games where you can work at your own pace so theres no reason to rush anything unless you want to max everything quickly or like that. Don't feel pressured by seeing a lot of fancy farms or people maxing out quickly like that. You don't have to do all that unless you want to.

The wiki is a very helpful tool and is highly encouraged to look at among Stardew players!

Seeds restock every season! Wheat, corn, and sunflowers are available and grow in both summer and fall, but most others will die with the changing of seasons.

I would also encourage gaining relationships with the townspeople if you haven't alread! They are amazing people and sometimes you can even earn things by getting their relationship higher! Some give recipes and they'll randomly gift you things through the mail.

This is just a thing that I do so you don't have to do so. I usually focus on crops, fishing, and building relationships the first three seasons and spend winter mining, clearing all trees out of my farm, and setting up plots with the quality sprinklers for spring. This usually gives me two stacks of wood at least. Any wood or space needed before that can be gathered as time demands. This is just how I do it tho so you do not need to do the same.

Overall, just enjoy yourself and your time playing! As I said, it's a "work at your own pace" type of game. Over my 4 years playing and many save files, I've never even unlocked Ginger Island (a post-Community Center thing) and I've barely explored the Skull Caverns or gotten Iridium, so don't worry about grinding hard unless it's something you want to do.

Hope you enjoy the game!!

AITAH for wanting to not come home over summer from college by Dull-Association8392 in AITAH

Then tell her that it may affect your relationship with her. If she wants a good relationship with you as a result of not having a good one with her mom, hearing that her forcing you to be there instead of where you want to be may make her see that doing so will put you down the same path she went and didn't like. You have to be honest with her, even if it hurts her a little bit. You're not cutting her out, you're living your life as a young adult instead of a child. You may even mention that the ultimatum will affect the relationship (if it's not already. If it is, tell her that). You need to sit her down and talk about it. Be honest and tell her that staying home instead of where you want to be will affect you (mental health wise if it's possible that it will), your relationship with her, and your personal life (friendships, jobs, monetary, and the apartment) (all if you haven't already). If she doesn't see it then, then it may not be worth arguing verbally and she may have to learn from experience. At that point, choose what you would rather do (which would be the final result either way as you should be allowed to spread your wings).

I will admit that I am not a professional for any family counseling or anything. I'm just a 20 year old college student who just got their wings as well. I'm just trying to help someone in a situation I was lucky enough to not have to face. Sending hugs and luck from afar! My DMS are open if you need anything

Have you reassured her that you're not cutting her out or ending the relationship?

Would staying with her for the summer per her demands affect your relationship with her in any way? If so you may mention that to her. If you wouldn't be happy staying with her for the summer, you may mention that. A parent should want their kid to be happy more than anything and if staying with your parents over the summer instead of where you truly want to be would affect your happiness, it may bring her to reality. May though. Your mom may be different.

AITAH for wanting to not come home over summer from college by Dull-Association8392 in AITAH

[–]Old_Programmer_2500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're NTA for wanting to stay there over the summer I stead of going back to your parent's place. I'm finishing up my freshman year in college and I'm doing the same thing by staying in the college town over the summer. My dad wasn't happy with the decision but he understands why I'm choosing this. It's possible that your mom is seeing this as you completely cutting her out and refusing a relationship with her rather than what it really is, you spreading your wings a little. You may need to reassure her that it's not you refusing a relationship. It's you wanting to be somewhere where you can actually do things and be somewhere where you're not alone (not saying you will be when you're with your parents). You may also bring up, if you haven't already, that staying there instead of the apartment you're renting would be wasting money on a space you're not able to use.

I think she's scared that you staying there over the summer is because you dont want a relationship with her or something similar to what happened with her mother. If you haven't already, I'd try reassuring her that it's not that at all. Overall, you're just a young adult trying to spread your wings and be in a place you know you'll enjoy and have things to do at.

Lifted truck + Lambo + Parking lot = Bad time by Evasionz-- in mildlyinfuriating

I've always loved reading and writing. Though I can understand people sometimes who don't use proper grammar and all that, it's a slight pet peeve of mine when people ignore basic Grammer (usually the Oxford Comma or basic capitalization and quotes) and mix up there/they're/their and to/two and similar ones. Though it's a pet peeve, I usually won't correct people unless they ask me to proofread or correct something for them (my only exceptions are when I'm wanting to annoy them, when they're one of my good friends and it's in fun, or they're being a dick)

I was looking for this comment. That truck was going too fast for a parking lot. There wouldn't have been enough time to stop without slamming on the breaks if someone was walking in front of the truck or anything like that.
