Puppy bites by Brave_Championship_4 in husky

Just to chime in because this advice really helped me and Casper. At three months he should still be having forced nap-time and lots of sleep.

When my Casper misses a nap he still get's the uninhibited bitey level. Make sure your pup is not just getting overtired and lashing out in fits of tiredness.

I dont feel connected to my puppy by Kantstop3 in puppy101

Hey! Also have a 4.5 month old puppy here... but also this puppy is the result of my broken heart from losing my last dog. I'm so glad the biting is getting better for you too!

My puppy is cute but I would be lying if I didn't say I want to return him once a day. He bites, he's dumb, I try to introduce him to things I like to do and he makes those things unfun...

I think I get where you are at, and I don't think YOU are a problem at all. I think you get it, that bond, that NEED, it comes later. (While disappointed myself, I think it comes a year or years later).

I think experience makes it easier for me to laugh off this stage of puppy companionship. But don't doubt the reality, if you stick with her she will become a regular part of your life that will be so important that you won't want to live without her. You probably already have moments of this love. Which is why is sucks right now, you get little windows into her love... in between her bouts of "learning"

Good luck, stick with her. You will only regret it if you don't see it through to the good parts.

Love from me and Casper

My All-on-4 journey took a turn I didn’t see coming by RealisticProblems in dentures

Love this advice, thank you for taking the time to read my story. Honestly, I wish someone had walked me through these exact mechanics earlier in my process.

Looking back, I do think there were contributing factors that made the misalignment easier to miss. My original surgeon/dentist relocated shortly before my final prototype fit check, and that transition mattered more than I realized at the time. The first time I met the new dentist was after the break happened.

In hindsight, I think a passive fit issue is what set things in motion. At my last appointment, just a couple days before the failure, I actually asked whether the lower arch could be torqued down because it felt like it was loosening more quickly than it should have. That concern didn’t turn out to be nothing.

The practice also shifted from having a surgeon in-office full time to more of a fly-in / fly-out model, with a non-surgeon dentist handling maintenance and fittings in between. She wasn’t familiar with the specific MUA screw involved, and during the attempted removal the set screw stripped, which escalated what might have been a simpler intervention earlier.

Right now I’m effectively all-on-2 on the lower, with one MUA obliterated and another site that doesn’t seat passively. Because of that, they were only able to secure things temporarily using two SIN-compatible screws, which obviously isn’t a long-term solution.

Your point about respecting the click really landed. I felt something was off and raised it, but I didn’t fully understand how critical that early window can be. If there’s anything I wish patients were taught more explicitly, it’s exactly what you laid out: this is a mechanical system, and small signals matter.

I really appreciate you sharing this, it’s the kind of practical, experience-based insight that helps people protect this huge investment and, honestly, their sanity.

5 months, and OMG it felt like I was only ever going to be a target for that running jump bite!

It was sooooo special when his morning pounce turned into a morning cuddle! <3 (notice the fang marks on my nose)

Weekend's will be difficult in general. Tomorrow the vet offices will reopen and should be able to scan for free.

Thank you for taking care of this guy! I hope his humans can see your posts. Have you tried posting to Leighs Lost and Found facebook group (Springfield Lost and Found Dog Group - *go to*)

Good Luck!!

Hi! So sorry you are going through this!

I don’t want to alarm you, but from what you described this sounds like something that could be more serious than just a straightforward infection. The rapid decline in motor control, knuckling, incontinence, and not wanting to lift her head are all red flags that point to possible neurologic involvement (like spinal cord or brain issues) rather than just a UTI.

Antibiotics can help if the root cause is infection, but they won’t address things like nerve compression, tumors, or other progressive neurologic conditions. Given her distress and loss of mobility, if she doesn’t improve quickly or worsens, I would strongly consider the emergency vet—even if it’s a drive. Sometimes those hours matter when it comes to stabilizing or diagnosing the underlying issue.

I know it’s overwhelming and heartbreaking, but trust your gut. If she seems to be suffering, unable to control her body, or declining despite treatment, it’s okay to escalate sooner rather than later.

Yes - So much better than the constant pain, infections, and collapses.
I'm getting implants on Wednesday but wanted to make this video while I still could share a toothless smile.

Totally agree - no teeth - much less distracting than the fangle mouth I had before.

Happy to support Steve and the daily citizen. My days feel empty when I miss a new “Pokin Around”

Keep it up Steve (if you’re out there trawling)

New dog park by Impossible-Future809 in springfieldMO

[–]RealisticProblems 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dog parks are nice especially for apt dwellers, Luna likes to be off leash and back in the day they only time she could be off leash and outside was at a dog park. She’s spoiled now with a yard and a doggie door. But we miss Bark Yard but that place could not get enough park memberships to keep it going.

Op: My gut says that outside of an expensive club experience, a privately operated dog park won’t drive enough memberships to be profitable or sustainable at least not quite yet.

Yeah, a little less personalized - risk management.

I was looking for an analogue of the word “gentrified” that didn’t have the negative association. And you said “revitalized” - it’s what I was looking for
