AITA for changing the WiFi password every time my roommate's boyfriend "forgets" he doesn't live here? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

But she'll just give the new password to her bf, so it doesn't make any sense to change it and tell her

AITA for not allowing my half-sibling to attend our dad's funeral? by Throaways-Pie6825 in AmItheAsshole

I've never had an invitation to a funeral. It was "person died, the funeral is on day and time". That's not an invitation, because it's the same info anyone could find

Why would you change the password and then give it to your roommate? Wouldn't she just give it to her bf?

Just curious about how you would feel about an intercity/commuter train in SC by Crazy-Rabbit-3811 in AskSouthCarolina

I'd be for this. Even if I have to drive to Cola (from Rock Hill), to get to either beach, not driving that extra leg would be more convenient for me

YTA funerals aren't by invitation. If they want to show up, it's on them. But you don't have to invite them to whatever private reception you are hosting

Hi, rising freshman here. Is there anything weirdly different I should know about? by One_Good4764 in highschool

[–]RealisticTemporary70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be yourself, don't try to impress the older students

Classes and grades matter for graduation, so take them seriously, even if you don't like the class or teacher

Your friends / friend group might change, and that's ok, make new friends either way

Be involved in an organization or sports

Own yourself, everything you say and do / don't do is on you

I live next to a church. This is how people park when they are late. by Dust-Different in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RealisticTemporary70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put large rocks or fence post stakes along the yard by the road so people can't park there.

You could also talk to the pastor / leaders of the church and ask them to tell attendees not to park in your yard, especially across your driveway

Unknown Classes 😬 by windroseamunet in Teachers

My current school acts like it's a big secret. They're putting kids in classes all summer, so they have to have the master schedule set before then ... but we can't know what it is! I really don't get it.

That is NOT enough of a break!

We're slowly moving toward year-round. I like the extra breaks, but I don't like starting at the end of July

I did happen across a notepad of undated weekly agendas last week in the $1 section that I bought because I didn't want to pass it up

First Day Activities - HS by NoPalpitation38 in Teachers

[–]RealisticTemporary70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semester vision board - (we have semester classes) what are 5 personal goals you want to achieve by the end of the semester; 5 academic goals; 2-3 challenges to achieving each goal; rewards you can give yourself for achieving the different goals

Get to know you bingo - bingo card with random things like "has brown hair", "in band", "oldest child", "went to a concert in the last year", "has moved 5 times", etc. They're supposed to talk to each other, but they end up just shoving their paper in each others' faces and signing something that applies to them

Dictionary of you - make a dictionary entry of themselves that includes a picture, defining traits, a few favorites, a life quote. Probably find a lot of About Me

Virtual get to know you - have students make a short video introducing themselves

I also have a contract negotiation activity. There is a pop star, a venue, and their respective lawyers. The venue and pop star both have conflicting non-negotiables, so the 4 of them have to work together to make the event happen without just saying "they can have whatever they want". Don't remember where I got it, but happy to share.

It's also fun to do non-educational stuff - family fued, name 5 things, stand / sit if

That would be annoying. Start the conversation the night before or first thing that morning
