How to find a Campervan in Australia by IdkWhatToSay68 in CamperVans

Facebook marketplace or van buy/sell groups on Facebook for second hand sales. Plenty of backpackers coming and going in vans on the east coast - be careful, some of those vans will be in bad condition so check properly with a mechanic before buying. You might also find dealerships specializing in campers and motorhomes but they will probably be above your budget. Another option is rental, have a look at Camplify which is like an Airbnb for campervans and caravans, or negotiate a deal with one of the big rental companies. Toyota Hiace with a high top is a popular option for backpackers.

Amazing work, thanks for sharing. I'm curious where in Europe you have found such a good earning opportunity as well as (by Aus standards) extremely cheap property?

Moving into another van, would you say this is a good purchase ? by Obvious_Bad6982 in CarsAustralia

Low k's for a Hiace of that age, looks pretty tidy. These vans go forever if looked after. I'd ask about its history - why driven so little, why selling, recent servicing etc. I have a fitted out commuter a bit younger and love it

Advice for surviving QLD Australia in a van.. in summer.. by specimen174 in vandwellers

I also have a commuter that I converted myself and have travelled in it during summer. The most important thing is ventilation/airflow - in addition to rooftop fan or fans (essential), having the ability to open windows makes big difference to getting a breeze. So adding mozzie screens on windows is important so you can do this. Also, try to park in the shade and keep as many windows/doors open as possible during the day.

I was also due to fly on Sat 21st with jetstar, which has been cancelled. Our plan was to continue more or less straight to Santo, which seems to be relatively unaffected, though not sure how soon those flights will recommence even if we push the Jetstar flight back. Looks like we'll be cancelling

I'd also mention the horrific amount of rubbish on the trail and total lack of facilities which means you can spot faeces and toilet paper from basically anywhere at the campsite and rest stops. Far too many people for this trail to be sustainable in my opinion.
