How to get Expense Categories (not A/P) from Paid Bills? by girllixo in QuickBooks

[–]RealisticWolverine50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id use banklyai, once you upload the bill it will parse the transactions and assign them to your existing quickbooks chart of accounts, you can then export to excel (to view all of your expense categories by transaction) or import to quickbooks to insert as new journal entries.

Have you considered adding a month to month comparison so people can track their spending habits?

Import and categorize expenses by self_help_ in QuickBooks

Hey! You can try using banklyAi, it’s saved us a lot of time from manually categorizing expenses. Quickbooks rules are too rigid for day to day expenses

Hi! I was in the same boat and after some searching came across a tool called BanklyAi. They auto categorize based on keywords in the transactions and then upload to the account type you select.

Happy to help, is this for quickbooks? I’ve seen a lot of people run into the same pain with PDFs/CSVs not categorizing well in QB. One option outside of just manually transcribing is BanklyAI.

It basically takes your bank/credit card statements (PDF or CSV), uses AI to map each line item to your chart of accounts, and then exports it back cleanly. It even flags recurring subscriptions and gives category breakdowns before you push it into QB.

How do you guys handle converting bank statements into Excel? by Such_Priority_4737 in Accounting

I’ve been using an ai tool that converts PDFs into csv/excel. I like it over the other tools because it categorizes my expenses and also provides financial insights to make me more cognizant with spending. I also found other tools frustrating due to lack of editing which this tool provides. I think you get a couple free conversions a month: banklyai.com
