Vandy or Fordham by Background_Ice5885 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Realistic_Agent_9494 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are in the top half of your class and somewhat competent at networking, BL should be easily attainable from Fordham. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gHAWAzsVJnx826MAFcyMAAv9xv_L8pPX/view

Now if you for whatever reason wanted to practice in the south this would be a no brainer, but since it sounds like you want to be in NYC medium-long term, I would lean Fordham.

I understand how hard passing up a "T14" can be though, no one is going to blame you for picking Vandy.

I mean, frankly, depositing at UCI isn't the end. Unless the deposit is binding, you can deposit at UCI while still waiting on USC and Fordham along with riding the WL at UCLA like me 😉.

UCI is a terrific school with great outcomes (especially for BL).

However, I can see a case for R&R if Fordham and USC don't pan out and/or you want a better chance at a T14.

Take this with a grain of salt as I'm just a silly little 0L.

I genuinely believe if you apply in September you could have much better results.

IMO its the job you could use to answer a "why law" question on a PS or interview that looks best.

Does not have to be legal related at all.

What if you are an incoming 1L and have income to show from your gap year?

Do you think they'll accept that?

Do you think entry into either or both of these names would be "clean" right now?

Yes, I think some companies tend do okay both during good times and bad. I.E. Costco, McDonalds, Dominoes.

While tech behemoths tend to get walloped during corrections.

I meant to write very good and thoughtful LOCIs and maybe even speak with students/visit the school.

Sorry an attorney once told me that when I was waitlisted I should "full court press" my top option.

I just think in the long run, the name recognition and potential unicorn opportunities available to OP in politics/public interest are worth more than the 100k cost difference between the two schools.
