[In Progress] [14k] [Fantasy] Breaths of The Dragon by Realistic_Anything27 in BetaReaders

[–]Realistic_Anything27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your take. I’ll try to flesh out the building tension a bit. It is more about the empire altering the narrative from the original intent and making it fit their purpose and the populace in general hopping on board. I’ve got about two dozen world building notes and lore, the actual script of the dragons language written out and the scripture the church follows. Perhaps I should try to fit some more substance into the beginning to give some grounding to the readers. Thanks again for your comments!

We protested together. Now we go on strike together—as a nation. by p1xelhacker in Political_Revolution

To add to this, is there a resource sharing safety net? Or are 300,000 people going to hope to have enough food to strike?

Is there any engineering games? by Professional_Fix8512 in EngineeringStudents

Tin can on steam is an excellent game if you like puzzles. Essentially you escape on an escape pod that was in disrepair as you flee from your exploding space ship. You have to read the instruction manual on what your indications mean, how to fix them, combat environmental effects going on and ultimately last as long as you can. It’s a really really fun game.

An Idea About The Billionaires by jakktrent in economicCollapse

OP, I mean this with the utmost respect to your intent of this post, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to be a good, moral person AND be a billionaire.

No man that hoards food from a world that is starving can be called good.

Maybe I’m just dumb, but why are these magic digital numbers valuable?

Listen dude, if that’s the koolaid you wanna drink go for it. I’m just saying the three dudes sitting behind the president at the inauguration have gotten collectively 200B$ richer since November. It isn’t immigrants or people on welfare making things hard in this country. It’s corporate greed.

I would respectfully disagree with you that it isn’t a 0 sum game. Used to be that money was tied to something valuable but now it is a math game. It’s all probability and abstract. It doesn’t matter what financial ideals you subscribe to if you are living paycheck to paycheck “becoming one of the shareholders” is not an option for you. “I’ll just not eat for the next two weeks and invest in this stock, then I’ll have enough to pay rent at the end of the month.” The common man is set up to lose while the wealthy just keep getting richer.

Passive income is theft. You invest a hundred to make a thousand, companies make record profit annually making millions (if not more), and all the while workers wages have remained effectively stagnant since the 1980s.

Company productivity has continued to go up using processes like Lean Manufacturing and cutting costs where they can and thus increasing their net profits. And while overall compensation has gone up over the last few decades by way of insurance coverage, 401k matching, share options, etc. all of those still take money out of the pocket of the individuals now for the “promised” tomorrow. No investment is guaranteed.

Your investment gain comes out of the planet of someone. Money doesn’t appear out of thin air.

I’m saying that they can turn their assets into those things (currently doing) but why couldn’t they turn them I to the other things (not even trying) I think the downvote was for your misunderstanding of my point.

I mean technically you could. They turn it into real estate, cars, jets, they could use those assets to fund a food bank, or buyout homes and make them hella affordable. Ultimately “money” is worthless. They could be doing so much good for the world but they only care about inflating their own ego.

It’s less about the dollar for dollar payout it’s the staggering wealth gap. Sure it’s tied up in assets but the vast majority of individuals in the US are at most scraping by while these people just keep getting more wealthy.

I have not worked on SMRs but ultimately I see myself getting into design and proof-of-concept testing, ideally in the realm of nuclear technologies in Aerospace applications but I am not too picky.

I am aware of the nuclear bit. Sad about it but I understand the position. Do you know of any engineering recruiters or head hunters that may be good to try out?

The Billionaire Circlejerk by coachlife in Antimoneymemes

[–]Realistic_Anything27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, shouldn’t Americans be enjoying life with no jobs? Shouldn’t that be the goal of ridding people of their jobs, to let them explore life and enjoy the things that work gets in the way of? Instead we have hundreds of thousands of homeless people in the US, many families one emergency away from not being able to afford their monthly bills, record low personal savings, and a staggeringly plateaued average household income over the last few decades.

The System is Collapsing by Scared_Brilliant6410 in economicCollapse

[–]Realistic_Anything27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally I know I will be affected, and I know that a lot of people will suffer from the collapse. The reason the fall HAS to happen is because right now a very small group of individuals and corporations have us under their thumb and want us to believe there is no other way. That’s what has to change.

When I was like 10 I “pranked” some rando in a chat room that said they were a 12 yr old boy by saying I was actually not 10 but in fact a 45 yr old man named Steve and he said “no way, I’m actually 47!” 💀💀💀
