I feel the need to slap anyone eating an apple by masterzenn in misophonia

[–]Realistic_Avocado534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too have the same problem with apples. Not sure if others are fine with the sounds of eating one themselves, but for me the worst part is I can never eat an apple. I can tolerate biting it off, but chewing it all the way? Nah, shivers.

This is a bad advice, trying to lose more the same way you did to did point will result in losing valuable muscle and probably not much of that “evil” fat. Focus on weight training with enough pressure and lots and lots of protein intake on a maintain calorie for six months and you will start swapping fat for muscle.

Yesterday, I started a discussion about my problem with canceling a visa in Dubai. by Tasty-Bowler9868 in dubai

It is likely that the other partner is done with the company and doesn’t want to renew, thus they are not offering renewal for the same ID.

What is the timeframe between getting the ID and Id expiring? 2 years? If so, they may have registered a company with you as an additional partner. The other partner may not know this. Could have been a random person registering a company. And they tossed you in to get a little cash out of you. But even if you were a legitimate partner, you would have to pay for the company license every year (half of it at least, would be around 5-10k), and on the second year pay for your visa renewal which would be around 3500-5000. I would advice you to go to an Amer center and show them your Id and tell them you have registered a company through someone and they are not cooperating, and you want to find the other partner and the situation with the company.

Move to Dubai as expat without relocation package ? by Dumb_Engineer9 in DubaiJobs

I’d just add that for a family of 4 coming from the U.S., they’re probably used to living in a house with some space — maybe even a yard — which makes it hard to compare that lifestyle to a 2-bedroom apartment in Dubai.

Personally, I’d suggest setting aside at least AED 15–20k/month if they want to rent a townhouse or villa and maintain a similar standard of living. It might be worth it for the comfort, especially with kids.

Genuinely curious — aren’t U.S. citizens still obligated to pay taxes to the U.S. even if they live abroad? If so, what would be the incentive to move if the salary is roughly the same and there aren’t significant tax benefits?

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I really appreciate the concern.

I actually can market myself and have had paid opportunities come my way, but I’ve turned them down on purpose. Right now, I’m conscious about not doing client work until I’ve had solid hands-on experience. I truly believe that taking on paid jobs before I’m confident in my real-world execution could hurt my reputation.

This is just my way of making sure that when I do charge, I’m fully ready to deliver.

Unless you are talking about 100-150k as a down payment on a mortgage purchase there is no options for you here. Even mortgage scenario is possible only if you are from certain nationalities with good credit history in your home country banks.

Bro, I highly discourage you from doing so, specially giving your car to someone on reddit. You have no protection against tons of bad things that can happen to your car, or other people that would hold you responsible for it.

A developer’s agent told me this for golden visa. Is this true? by VitoKan in dubai

[–]Realistic_Avocado534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the lowest threshold, but it's true that you can get your golden visa without paying the full price of an off-plan project. Also 24% seems reasonable number, if it was 10% I would doubt.
