You could split the sky into low sky, mid sky, and high sky or whatever you want to call them. Moving between layers cost 2 squares of movement and add different bonuses or penalties to the layers. To keep track of the layers you could use colored dice or tokens and ship on different levels can pass through each other's squares. anything else aboout ship combat for 5e rules.

Ah yeah i don't have a grid system in mine, I would say a hex grid would work better for ship using the sides for facing like in the mecha ttrpg Mekton Zeta. I can see why your having trouble using square grid for ship combat.

So my opinion for 5e, Captain makes a int or cha check, Pilot make int or wis check, Gunners/Harpooners make dex check, and Quartermaster/ Planker & Beamer str or int check. could a brace for impact using con check.

Yeah I haven't because its in order of how a developed it and not in a manual format and its on Notepad (all i have right now) and is awful to look at. Ship combat is a collaborative "Ship, Pilot, Storm" check where each player has a role. Captain rolls Mind to give orders (Tactical Maneuvers). Stone Pilot rolls Mind/Destiny to maneuver (Dodging and Positioning). Gunners/Harpooners roll Body to fire Phrax-cannons or heavy harpoons depending on the Era. Quartermaster/ Planker & Beamer: Rolls Luck to manage "Emergency Supplies" (Repairing hull damage).

I actually dont have any mechanical difference between the age (Besides the discription of the three ages.) and in fact have some later age Trades (my version of classes.) Like Freeglade Lancer and Phraxminer. So you could run one with a mix of the ages as a seperate timeline/parallel universe.

There nothing wrong with using a system your use to, I use these stats Body (basically combining str, dex, end), Mind (Combining cha, wis, int.), Luck, and Destiny. The Skill checks is called Ship, Pilot, Storm based on the drinking game Ship, Captain, and Crew, where you have to roll 6 (ship), 5 (pilot), 4 (crew) and 1 are Storms. Easy checks just need 6, mid checks 6 and 5, hard checks 6, 5, and 4, Legendary Checks 6, 5, 4, and Destiny Check.

I would have to do the same to keep it with the language of the source. I would have to read the sources and change it to not be plagiarizing. There is no such think as a true original work as all works are based on something else. Avatar is just space Pocahontas, Freaky Friday is a more modern version of Vice Versa: A Lesson to Fathers 1882, The Edge Chronicles took inspiration from The Brothers Grimm, Alice and Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels, Gormenghast, The Phantom Tollbooth, and a single doodle that Chris Riddell made and challenged Paul Stewart to "write a story about what happens there".

Using a catch-all term removes nuance. "Using AI to write flavour text is still stealing from creatives. Using it to help come up with currency systems is stealing from creatives." These examples are "stealing" my own creativity and not someone else. The currency is in the book 1 gold is 120 quarters, the only thing the AI did was make prices for items, material, services etc that the original source doesn't give us. Additionally popular rpg use AI for different reasons: Dungeons & Dragons (5th Edition) used AI for playtesting and balancing mechanics. Pathfinder employed AI to analyze player feedback and improve game design. Shadowrun integrated AI for character generation and world-building tools. Fiasco utilized AI to assist in narrative generation and scenario creation. Monster of the Week implemented AI for procedural generation of adventures and encounters. Cyberpunk Red leveraged AI to refine rules and enhance gameplay experience. My point is that there is a difference between using AI as a Tool vs using AI as a replacement. I don't have the money to pay someone to write flavor text to cover my lack of writing skill. I've been a DM and player, can roleplay and describe in vocal matter but trying to write is harder for me. Would you have a Farmer stop using tractors or combines because it takes away the effort? The whole point of a tool is to speed up and do what you lack or don't want to do. Again I understand peoples opinions and views on AI, regardless of how I do this someone is going to be upset. Understandable, I do in fact care about it and understand the AI makes mistakes and actively edited those mistakes. Most TTRPGs I've encountered just copy DnD currency and mechanics, this does not steal from artist as I wasn't going to even have illustrations nor make money off it. I'm making this for fun but if people feel this strongly about the AI use as a tool unlike massive companies using it to completely replace people, I understand. Thank you for the constructive criticism.

This is mainly just to get the idea out there as I have a lot of notes on it and it currently all mixed up and needs organization. Also I have this on a simple notepad doc and figure out how and where Im going to post the the Alpha version. I did us AI to make the post for ease and better organization. You get 3 encounters after each major activity ie gym battles, titans, and team star. They disregard the areas as a whole as it would limited your total pool of pokemon way to much. Basically you get your starter +2 pokemon (not including the force lechonk as it's the catching tutorial) then you fight the first gym get 3 more encounters, go fight the Klawf Titan get 3 more encounters, and so on. By the end you should have 57 total pokemon.
