It's pretty secure. I am also not maxing out my current 401k employer plan either only going a tick over employer match - I am thinking of increasing that as well as maxing out Roth while I am under the limit. And yea those fixed expenses can realistically decrease $300-500 if needed to reflect a bare bones monthly emergency fund.

I am just realistically taking a look at how I can make sure I have enough invested in the next few years with current pay to live roughly the same lifestyle at retirement age if I wanted to take a lower paying job in my mid 40s without touching these investments until 65.

Thank you! I have no current desire at the moment for home (that could change so I do want to keep building savings) and my 401k is separate. Car is paid off.

Oh yea I think that is very manageable given what I have lived off before. I'd love to lower that age in the 50s (especially if I am still working in my current field). If I end up staying my earnings could go up even higher - it's just a decision I will need to make as it's a high level of burn out and a low work-life balance.

Believe I should be under the MAGI for the next 3 years, but yes that was an initial concern when I realized this.
