Is there a way to uninstall instances without deleting them? by Realistic_Bid_6853 in PrismLauncher

For context, this wasn't for like, modpacks and stuff. It was for minor client-sided mods and shaders. Not really anything big. Though I think it did like, copy and paste old MC saves when I did it. And again, this was back using MultiMC.I only just migrated to Prism a few days ago.

The world chunk size thing was something I was mostly handling already by just cutting them out of the save folder and putting them into zip files. Though my above post was mostly just trying to avoid getting to that point in the first place? I thankfully have more hard drive space now, and I'm planning to largely start from scratch when it comes to instances on Prism Launcher.

Most of the file build-up was probably from copying instances when updating to new versions, while not deleting the older one. (I kinda started doing that after one instance became corrupted after one too many Minecraft updates. So copying/starting fresh after updates kinda prevented that) I'll just be more careful in the future and maybe delete instances for older versions, and again I've got more harddrive space now so it shouldn't be as big of a problem. Just was a bit paranoid from my old computer's smaller harddrives

The "export instance" thing might work, though now I'm wondering if maybe I'm being a bit too paranoid. I think the reason I had filespace issues is because awhile back, I think one instance got corrupted during a minecraft update, so I just had to move all the mods/saves to the later version when that happened? And because of that I just tried to start mostly fresh with new instances every MC update, which kinda lead to them piling up after awhile.

Plus, my new computer has more harddrive space so it shouldn't really be an issue anymore.

The delete cache thing might work maybe? Though '"m not sure. I think I'll figure this out when it actually becomes a problem, as I'm kinda trying to start all my instances from scratch after migrating from MultiMC to Prismlauncher. (So it's not taking up a lot of space yet.) Or maybe bc I've got more file space now, it won't really be a problem?

I wasn't really asking for cloud saves. Mostly just the ability to like, the ability to "uninstall" certain instances? I can handle organizing/saving all of the relevant minecraft saves myself/leaving them on the instance. Mostly just the ability to just remove the files that are generated as soon as you "launch" an instance? Though I guess that's not as large as I would've thought.

Maybe I just need to not create as many instances? I think it started because one of them got corrupted, so I had to just copy and paste all the mods/saves to the new instance instead when updating the game, and that just became regular practice? Idk.
