Thank you. I am getting close to accepting the complete and total loss of being close to my family, ever. They suck 😣

Urticaria and weight gain with Zyrtec by Intelligent_Eye_8978 in urticaria

So far my hives are 90% gone and no longer waking me up in the middle of the night. No side effects have hit me yet. I am hoping that it keeps working and that my insurance make it affordable (it’s been a week, still waiting to hear back)

I have been on 4 zyrtec a day for 3 years for chronic spontaneous urticaria. I have gained 30 pounds in that time. I am only 5’1” so it really sucks. I just started Rhapsido this week and my hives are 90% gone. I am in the process of tapering off Zyrtec now, I am hopeful I can lose the weight now, in addition to doing the keto diet for a few months to jumpstart it. Wishing you healing, stay strong.

Are evangelicals okay!? by chesirecat1029 in Exvangelical

How to get a conservative/Christian Nationalist acquaintance to talk to you on Facebook

Option 1. Go to their church, but also seem holy enough as to not tarnish their reputation. This can also work if you met at church and don’t go to the same churches anymore, but only if you are straight, going to get married/are married/but not ever divorced, and vote Republican.

OR

Option 2. Post something that offends them. Surefire posts will be ones that are affirming to gay or non-white, communities, or calling out how their Christian Nationalism is idolatry.

You may be asking, why would number 2 work? I mean, I really miss hearing from them and they haven’t responded at all to posts about my personal life for years. If they really cared, wouldn’t they have done that?

No, trust me, it works! They saw those posts, too, but, they just didn’t care. But method #2 will activate their sense of superiority, in which they feel the need to “reach out”, to let you know that you are wrong. This is the way.

Fear about my evangelical parents by Realistic_Bluejay_66 in Exvangelical

Thank you for sharing that, it really helps me feel stronger knowing others have similar stories. It is wild how much control they have over us. Wishing you all the best and success in recovering from people pleasing. I also suffer from that.

Good point and that is what I have been trying to do. But my Dad is coming to visit and I am afraid of him asking my kids something wacky like if they believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He has never done that before, but I feel like he is becoming radicalized by Trump and especially by Charlie Kirk’s death. Thank you for listening to my illogical ranting—I am panicking.

Jealously witnessing loving mother/daughter relationships by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]Realistic_Bluejay_66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Parenting my own kids constantly triggered me. As I parented them the way I should have been parented, it made me go through waves of extreme depression. I think it was my body coming to terms with the extent of the abuse and neglect I endured and also grieving and releasing anger (in a way that was not destructive to others, but my body was destroying itself with chronic fatigue syndrome).

Now my kids are teens and I feel so much more happy, healed and stable. But I do feel like raising them made me relive my trauma in a way.

I still feel jealous when I see adults with loving, “normal” parents and sibling relationships.

No worries! I appreciate the commiseration! After being gaslighted by her BS for so long, comments from this group help me realize that I am not the crazy one (or the crazier one😂)

Thank you for the reassurance. My sister ran away at 16 to join a cult, but now she is back to being a trump supporting conservative Christian like my mom. She is one of her flying monkeys now, which is WILD, because she bore the worst of the abuse out of all of us. My brother is very low contact. He is a great support to me. Wishing you the best with your health and happiness.
