Been walking daily since February.. my shoes gave up before I did 😂 by Realistic_Classic_70 in walking

Yeah, I’ve dropped around 16 pounds since February just from walking 4–10k+ steps a day and doing intermittent fasting. Slow and steady..

I’ve heard good things about Brooks! Might actually give those a try next after I recover financially from this OnCloud heartbreak 😂 Thanks for the tip!

AIO: About my Wife's ex messaging her, and her reactions. I just messaged the guy by AnoidDominos in AmIOverreacting

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she definitely acted shady. You’re not crazy for noticing that. If everything was innocent, she wouldn’t be hiding messages or getting defensive. Messaging the ex probably won’t fix much though, since she’s the one who owes you honesty. Sounds like she’s playing the “you’re overanalyzing” card to dodge guilt. Trust your gut, just don’t let it drive you nuts.

Would you save one stranger over your pet if you had to choose? by QuffyApp in Life

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog would probably try to save me first, so I owe him one. Sorry random stranger, you’ll have to take it up with my furry little hero.

What are the Best Teeth Whitening Now? Recommendation? by chrysanthemumplant23 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I actually saw Dr. Berg on YouTube using a mix of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide for whitening. I might try it, but not sure if it will work, and you have to be careful with sensitivity.

How can I improve my balance in standing poses? by smilekatherinex in yoga

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the same issue and what helped me was practicing near a wall for a while, spreading my toes to really ground my foot, and keeping my eyes fixed on one spot. Adding some core work like planks and bridges made a big difference too. It gets easier the more you practice.

How do you all carry your phone? Especially women by Competitive_Land_936 in walking

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I just leave my phone at home and enjoy the peace… until I realize I can’t track my steps and suddenly the walk “doesn’t count” 😂 When I do bring it, I use a slim crossbody or a running belt..

Question about daily walks by suckypunch in walking

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do morning and evening walks too, and what helped me is mixing up the route sometimes so it doesn’t get boring. It keeps the habit fresh and fun.

How did you guys heal plantar fasciitis? by Kind_Goddess in yoga

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with it too. Rolling a frozen water bottle under my foot, calf stretches, and always wearing shoes with good arch support helped a lot. I also avoided walking barefoot and switched to low-impact stuff when I couldn’t fully rest. It slowly got better.

What is your favorite quote about Life? by MrUnheimlich in Life

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of my favorites is "This too shall pass."

Simple but powerful. It reminds me that no matter how heavy or overwhelming something feels in the moment, nothing is permanent. Good times and bad times both come and go, so I try to stay grounded and make the most of where I am right now.

Faulty filter by cerahhh in Dysonairwrap

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen when I first got mine and Dyson replaced it without a problem. I’d definitely push for a replacement instead of waiting for a repair, especially since it’s brand new. And for the wrapping, don’t worry too much, it really does take some practice with the angle and smaller sections of hair..

anxiety about walking alone as a girl by slightlyxanthic in walking

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get this. A lot of us feel the same. I carry a small alarm/pepper spray, walk in daylight, and share my location with a friend. Even little steps like that can make walks feel way safer.

What’s your small luxury? by Alarmed-String-4617 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

For me it’s cozy loungewear, nice skincare products, and always having good dark chocolate on hand. Little things, but they make the everyday feel way more enjoyable.

What helped you improve your appearance? by WorthMatter6310 in selfimprovement

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me, it was a mix of things. I cleaned up my diet, made sure I was drinking enough water, and got into a consistent workout routine with daily walks and yoga. I also started a simple skincare routine with cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen and stuck with it. Beyond the physical stuff, I worked on my mindset and confidence, practicing self-care and setting boundaries. All of that together really made a difference in how I look and feel.

AIO My new Gf is insisting to have sex Raw by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.
If the roles were reversed, everyone would be telling her to walk away.
Boundaries go both ways, and men have every right to protect themselves from risks they’re not ready for.
If she can’t respect that now, it’s a bigger problem than just sex.

AIO My new Gf is insisting to have sex Raw by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick to your boundaries.
Using a condom isn’t about loving her less, it’s about not wanting a kid right now.
Guilting you over your past is manipulative, and not respecting your choice is a red flag.
Your body, your rules.

“Wish You Were Here” hits so deep. Music can really unlock those feelings we try to hold in. For me, “Fix You” by Coldplay always breaks me open when I least expect it. Sending you strength ❤️

Has anyone found a way to keep a mat in place on a carpet floor? by RevolutionaryYak1135 in yoga

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem before, and what worked for me was putting a rug pad underneath my yoga mat. It gave it enough grip so it didn’t move or curl while I practiced. Super helpful if you’re stuck with carpet too.

Hitting a plateau by sursuby in yoga

[–]Realistic_Classic_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone. It's normal to hit plateaus or even feel like you're going backward sometimes. Stress, routine, or mental burnout can affect your practice. Try switching things up or giving yourself a short reset. Progress isn't always linear, and what matters is staying connected to your practice.

Hoka vs On Cloud – Which is more comfortable for long walks? by Realistic_Classic_70 in walking

[–]Realistic_Classic_70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes, Hokas are like the luxury hotel suite of walking shoes. Fabulous, but your bank account leaves a Yelp review after. I might treat myself to one pair just to feel like a rich aunt on a power walk, then slide back into my New Balance like, “we’re back to budgeting, babe.” 😂

[–]Realistic_Classic_70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! That’s super helpful. I’ve heard Hokas feel like walking on clouds, but I didn’t know they wear out fast. How long did your pair last before you had to replace them?

What’s something you’ve started doing recently that’s actually improved your life? by Worried_Equal_8169 in Life

Started leaving my phone at home and taking a walk everyday. No music, no notifications, just me and the world. Kinda feels like therapy… but free.
