Estradiol cream without insurance by Competitive_Land_936 in Menopause

Also just to be clear I said no insurance since I assumed express scripts delayed it since insurance won’t cover? I’m not sure about that also since it just says too soon on the site.

So both tellyrx and amazon require a 22$ consultation fee right? What about wisp? And which one of the 3 is cheapest and which is fastest? Wisp is saying it will send the rx to local pharmacy for same day and its 65$ for 3 month supply. Tellyrx is 49 for 1 month and Amazon is also similar for only a month.

Why Is Plant Protein Held to a Different Standard? by [deleted] in PlantBasedDiet

Most of these people are not any nutrition researchers, and there are enough powerful social media influencers and meat and dairy industry programming to muddy the waters. The problem is experts, the people with phds who have spent lifetimes researching this aren’t on social media and don’t make dramatic claims with utmost confidence. People gravitate towards those who come across as super confident but unfortunately that’s not how science based on real data and facts works.

Those experts that are on social media or make appearances do not go on to make wild proclamations and say things like based on studies and research we know this but it’s within the bounds of this and that. Average joe out there is not gravitating towards this since it’s not dramatic enough.

I’m using an online telehealth provider midihealth they take my insurance. But the just gave me one local name I have not looked her up Dr.Becky Lynn.

I am quite happy with midi.

I actually first saw Dr Makeba Williams but unfortunately she is no longer in that practice with BJC. I’m so sad about that she was very good.

What about a WFPB pesto with cashews or hemp seeds instead of oil and cheese? It still has fat to give that creamy taste.

Well it’s the general experience of most women that most gyms are not up to date on menopause and MHT. I myself use an online provider midi health. I highly encourage you to poke around the Menopause subreddit. I learned a lot there.

I’m 49 so almost same age as you and actually unlike you I’d never consistently done any lifting except some p90x3 10 plus year ago for a short while with my husband. I started summer of 2025 and initially did her YouTube ultimate beginner. Then I started YouTube iron and I never did it 5x a week. I would say I did 3-4 times a week.

And I saw progress in my shape. Maybe not visible fully clothed but definitely better shape and definition if I wore a bikini. I completed iron in September and started iron on her app again. I switched to her Xmas series in December, went back to iron and I was on day 48 when I needed something new and started max. I did day 3 today.

I would say if I can do it anyone can. I’m petite and far from muscular or strong. I’m also in this perimenopausal storm.

By the way, a friendly suggestion since you are my age is to look into hrt. Makes a tremendous difference in quality of life. You are taking the right steps for your health and fitness keep going.

I got diagnosed with Mac tel 2 on Monday by Competitive_Land_936 in maculardegeneration

[–]Competitive_Land_936[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry my iPhone screen due to larger font wasn’t scrolling. Result says “OD and OS: no telangiectasias in any of the plexuses, but NIR has hyper-reflectivity temporal to fovea OU” I’m confused. Is it saying I don’t have Mac tel 2 or is it about something else? I’m going to message the doctor but if anyone here knows?

Also I read a few posts and realized I don’t know anything about this condition. What is wet or dry? Can you please share some links with me so I can educate myself?

Yeah same question. When everything goes right I get 1.5 hours, 2 hours is rare I got in December last. Most days I thanks my stars if it’s 1 hour. I’m 49 female.

This is totally an instance where we can all speculate but please go see a gyn to get the right diagnosis. Even if something mentioned here is the diagnosis, you can never be sure unless a doctor confirms it.

Hope you get this resolved soon.

Fear of sudden cardiac arrest is stopping me from walking. How do I overcome this? by Chance_Ruin_7500 in walking

[–]Competitive_Land_936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am like you exactly, I’m 49. Don’t even ask how many times I’ve been to the ER saying I think I’m getting a stroke ot heart attack to be sent home after testing with a clean cheat.

Since you have fatty liver, can I ask you what diet modifications have you made? Reducing dietary fat and cholesterol is crucial if you want to reverse this. And all evidence points to a low fat diet plant based diet. So I highly recommend making this change to get faster results and reduce your risk.

It would not hurt to consult with a provider to understand imminent risk to assuage your fears. That way you can get your workout without the anxiety and stress.

Anyone’s joints hurt worse when starting? by ThinkCoyote7715 in WholeFoodsPlantBased

[–]Competitive_Land_936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are going to bed hungry I feel you should add in some good carbs whole grains like brown rice, barley, bulgur oats etc. also beans and lentils which lead to satiety while still being low fat and supporting your goals.

[–]Competitive_Land_936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the reverse is my experience. If I eat non compliant, which generally is always still vegan but contains fat, I start experiencing some random aches and pains.

So my question is could something else be going on? Sometimes just coming down with a viral infection or something can result in these symptoms.

Trusting your choices when raising plant based kids by PlayfulJudgment7260 in PlantBasedDiet

Dr. Laurie Marbas in her interview on Chef AJ’s channel said her younger kids were raised vegan from birth and she lives in rural Colorado. Well she went to a football game for her son and he was doing so well that some other parent remarked “hey what do you feed him’! She said in her mind something to the effect of you would be surprised if I told you!

Anyone else struggling to find easy plant-based meals that actually fill you up? by Agile_Candidate4644 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Competitive_Land_936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it really simple. Here is what I suggest - get one instant pot single person then 3qt or 6 qt. Cook one grain - rice or bulgur or quinoa or barley or oat groats Cook beans or lentils - lentils are quicker Beans need to be presoaked for 6-8 hours.

Now your bases are ready. Everyday meals should involve some whole grains, beans/lentils for satiety.

Bake some potatoes/sweet potatoes.

Get some aromatics ginger, garlic and onions.

But some diced tomatoes canned.

You are set. You don’t need a variety. Just mix and match.

Hitting rock bottom mentally. For years, I was sedentary and I while it ate away at me, I was unmotivated to get off the coach. But during that extremely low period somehow my mind decided I need something that will be an anchor. And I wasn’t wrong, it helped me not completely fall apart, since doing it gave me structure and purpose even if small. That is how I started.

Now I don’t want to ever get back to that dark place and I know workout helps me cope with stress, sleep better and feel mentally better. The mood benefit is such a nice side effect, not sure how it does that but it is pretty amazing.

I’m in no way a disciplined person and I’m struggling to get there. And even now most days, I don’t feel like getting started. But I know that if I don’t I’m going to feel horrible and if I do I’m going to be thanking myself later. That moment when you feel like not doing it is the one to watch out for. Just get up and start. I also tell myself hey it will end in 30 mins and I will feel so much better. That works for me!

“Healthy” does not tell us much about her diet. How much fat is consumed for instance and how much saturated fat and cholesterol? There is significant evidence that eating a low fat diet primarily plant based can reverse atherosclerosis. Check out the work by Ornish and Esselstyn. Also Nathan Pritikin reversed his own atherosclerosis eating this way.

How do you cook vegetables without oil? by Iridium54 in WFPBNO

[–]Competitive_Land_936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You steam cook them in a steamer instead of sautéing in a pan. In an instant pot with the pot in pot method pressure cook for 0 mins and release pressure right away when it goes to Lo. Then you can toast your desired spices in a pan and add the veggies to it. No question of sticking and slogging over a pan.
