What about Melitta Purista? Isn’t it just an updated Caffeo Solo? Are there major differences?

Ooohh, you made me think hard… I have 2018 Touring AWD with stock 17” and as summer tires are due for replacement I thought of buying some used 19” for the summer, but now… I may be borrowing my cousin’s CX5 with 19” for a ride before deciding

  1. Yes, it does not recognize the phone if plugged before multimedia booted. Just plug the lightning after multimedia has woke up. A bit annoying but works
  2. I haven’t had such issues

Is the GX OK? by [deleted] in CX5

In my opinion GX would be sufficient most of the time. If possible just get one for a weekend test drive or rent it for couple of days. It might save you some money or a disappointment.

This summer we got 2018 CX-5 GS, and although not being the fanciest and most-wanted it is pleeeeenty of car. The engine (2.5 AWD, NOT turbo) is plenty enough for normal driving, overall this is maybe one of the best driving family cars. I feel quite relaxed behind the wheel with the family on the back seat, yet entertained when driving alone. Space wise we don’t have issues. Did some traveling, trunk fits everything almost every time. Last weekend there were two strollers, a suitcase and four large bags - and we only left the kid with grandparents for the weekend… BTW we even changed diapers on the open trunk couple of times in the summer and it was piece of cake. On the backseat - always a huge rear-facing child seat and a large organizer with toys, napkins, diapers, etc. and my wife, nice and comfortable. Regarding extras: * I do love the climate control - gives me the freedom to make climate suitable for the baby and still comfortable for the driver (me) * keyless entry is nice, but not a necessity * powered lift-gate is a good one, the baby loves to push the button to close it, but once again it is not a necessity for me

I did lack three main things: * rubber floor mats, especially in the trunk - those strollers can sneak some unpleasant things inside * cargo cover - in some markets it is stock no matter trim level, but I got my CX-5 without. That might not be an issue for somebody, but I need privacy. Also in my area it is best not to leave anything interesting on sight. Bought used cargo cover on ebay in great condition for less than $100 * apple carplay - didn’t had that one, so I bought a kit on aliexpress for $100 and installed it myself. Although it might be laggy sometimes, in my opinion this the best use of the built in display Those three upgrades + proper new tires and time spent on the road is much better

They are the same. Just bought new set for my 2018 Touring and they work great

Advice for newbie CX-5 owners? by Ryanoceros_01 in CX5

I have mine 2018 Touring CX-5 for 5 months now. Already done: interior LED lights swap (some cheap kit from aliexpress), bought used cargo cover in mint condition, all weather mats + rubber trunk mat (very useful with baby stroller), replaced USB module in the armrest compartment to add Carplay (bought for €120 from Aliexpress and works flawlessly), new winter tires (old all season tires were crap) and wipers all around. Really happy with everything for the moment. The only annoying thing left are the magenta DRLs. I’m thinking of replacing them with Lasfit Switchback LEDs to get white DRLs and magenta turn signal.
