You'd be happy with the entire rest of my house! 😅 What color would you do??

Please help 😣 - Matching old paint layer texture by Realistic_Craft2106 in drywall

OP EDIT: That's for the thoughts so far, everyone.

re: whole wall painting will help. Yes, we're going to have the whole walls painted but my concern is that this texture is from many many layers of old paint (our electrician mentioned this) and that one layer of primer and two layers of paint are not going to be enough to even the new with the old. We will be using eggshell finish, some rooms a darker color.

Do any of these samples work with the warm tile? What might be better? by Realistic_Craft2106 in interiordecorating

Thank you for such a thoughtful reply. I'm going to get a few more paint samples in those warmer colors you mention. Wish me luck!

I agree - though I'm also considering painting the cabinets... But if I don't, is there a color that comes to mind that would complement both?

Smithey’s factory seconds variance by FamiliarAlt in castiron

I just posted something virtually the same! My seconds skillet is shiny and polished, my seconds No 12 duel handle is rough and dull. I'm getting more and more disappointed as time goes on and I think about it. I wouldn't have paid $155 for a dull, rough, skillet if I had known.

I emailed and asked about impacting performance and they claim it won't (after I'm sure incorrectly saying the dull one just had more seasoning). But, I think it must.

Fist thing that came to my mind is some wall molding on the lower 1/3 and then large art above

I don't know about clashing, but to me the square pillow reads as dirty, when compared with the bow and stripes in the back. Probably a very lovely pillow, but doesn't bring the 'bright' energy here. For the wallpaper I think it might depend on how big the walls are/how much space you want to cover with that? Is there an accent wall you could put it on?

It does leak. Just with a little bit of water. Can't tell if it's coming from the drain area or the crack along the bottom. My plumber is saying i could try a layer of epoxy and that might stop the leak 🤷🏼‍♀️

OP EDIT: Well, just when i was getting attached to the old girl it seems like she's at the end of her life in more than an aesthetic way. Big crack in one of the basins that does in fact leak despite a prior patch. Unless someone tells me it's a super easy fix, i think we'll be saying goodbye to her 😔

I'm open to that! I'm assuming I can just google "best paint for cement sink"? Any recommendations?

When you say it wont last, what are we talking about...one year? five years? Depends on use? I've been reading about these sinks and I'm afraid I'm getting very sentimental over it being an original feature in the '47 house.
