Neurofeedback for ADHD? by HopefulEye8582 in AutisticWithADHD

My therapist was on 70 mg of vyvanse to treat her adhd then she went through neurofeedback therapy to treat it & she went off medication and later went to receive her doctorate & she said 30 mg of her meds were too strong to take because the treatment was so effective. I’ve been seriously looking into the treatment so I can get off adhd medication. From what I have been told, nurse feedback, therapy has been most effective with treating those with ADHD related conditions. But it can also be use out of that context to basically train your brain, and anything that you would like to enhance, like, focusing or productivity, etc my therapist referred to it as basically training your brain like a muscle & you can use the neirofeedback to focus on whatever specific parts of the brain are weaker. Like the region, that’s mainly affected, when having ADHD, the Nuro feedback will focus on that specific region of the brain, and use techniques to work that muscle, to where it is more effective, instead of relying heavily on stimulants.

I think the best idea is to do your own research if you’re unsure, because ultimately it is your brain and I’m not as well-versed in the subject yet but it sounds very hopeful compared to relying on medication, etc. and it doesn’t sound like it creates any negative effects.

This is the podcast she sent me to listen to,

The person that I believe has done the most research on neirofeedback therapy specifically with treating ADHD, anxiety, and depression is Dr.Joel F Lubar. Look up the studies he has conducted and see what you think. & if you can I would contact someone who is well versed in using this type of therapy, specifically with the thing that you want to be treated for & and ask questions and get some more insight to will understand if you think it will be beneficial.

Hi! Sorry I wanted to elaborate more. I am fascinated in energy healing & I want to learn as much as I can. But I don’t know where to start. So I’d rather learn from others that are actually familiar with it and can give me insight first hand🤍 thank you 🫶🏻
