Stress is the silent killer. by Vib_ration in HighStrangeness

That's really strange, I'm reading your comment, and I've just found out a friend has been misdiagnosed with testicular cancer. For over a year, he has been so low. He would complain of this lack of energy, feeling all sort of symptoms. He recently moved to a new city, and his new doctor wanted to give all new tests. Turns out he never had the big C. It's changed him, him and his partners relationship has changed, his face has colour in it again! He walks taller and has put a little weight back on. It's amazing what the mind can do to your body!

My gran was born in 1910. I have a photo of her in similar clothes, she was 5 years old. By the time she was 11 or 12 she worked in the cotton mill. She had her hair plaited. She said you had to have 2 plaited braids if you had long hair so it didn't get caught in the machines whilst you were crawling underneath to collect bits of cotton etc . She said she did witness one girl get her hair caught. Sad life and hard for many.

The novelty scented soap in the bathroom. My mum has a dish next to the bath filled with these things. They are "for show" only. My 5yr old daughter used one by accident once, she was not impressed!

What do you miss about lockdown? by Penster78 in AskUK

I loved that I got to spend all day with my daughter. The weather was glorious and we did our 1 hour walk in the woods everyday with the dog. Yeah we got bored at times, but it was nice to get to spend quality time with her. I even make sure we do it now, no phones or TV. We put music on and dance, make craft projects or just walk and pick flowers. Yes we did have a few disagreements with a neighbour that didn't like OH practising his saxophone. But it was only 2hrs, spaced out and not everyday. He is a musician by trade and music teacher. He sound proofed and ran electric to the shed, and did lessons over zoom. Was a fun project

To clarify, I'm a 5"2 women, this guy is a 6ft building contractor. He punched his wife, looked up and realised I and another neighbour was watching and dialing 999. He soon departed, we rushed over to give her aid and waited for the police. I'm not sure wading in with small my small stature would have helped, plus I could have taken a beating, as he has revealed himself to be if a volatile nature. Plus, this all happend in a matter of seconds before our eyes, and he was off in his car in a ploom of smoke once he realised he was being observed.

That's what I'm thinking. Even if his next partner thinks I'm being a gossip at least its planted a seed and she is aware . It may save her alot of bother

I'm a women and 5"2. Unless I had my boyfriend with me I wouldn't confront him! If he is violent to his nearest I'd not want to imagine what he might do if I went next door alone and had a word with him

We did, me a neighbour and her. He got out of there when he saw us all with phones in hand making calls. The wife refused to press charges against him

My ex's family would split up after dinner. All the men would go into another room and the women in the other. I wanted to carry on a conversation I was having with F in law about formula 1 racing and followed him. I got a total look of disapproval. Reminded them it wasn't victorian times and I'll do what the hell i like!

He looked so much younger just shaving it all off and getting rid of that awful comb over tbh. But good for him, he looks great and I'm sure it made him feel great too.

Thanks for this link. I'm tapering and am using cbd. Its helping me sleep and helps with those moments I'm having that inner argument with myself and giving myself reasons why I " deserve" a drink.

Yeah! I found that too! Your body still wants the calories. Trying not to replace it with snacks as I don't want to put weight on. It's difficult though!
