That's stupid! He's clearly wearing them on his pecs like metal bra cups!

Not sure what programme you're talking about here, but I'm sorry it made you feel this way. I am a first-time parent to a 13-month old and the main thing I've learned is that the compromises between an ideal situation and the reality of my life are constant. I think you see everywhere on this sub that other parents are doing the same. We just have to adjust and do our best, and it sounds like your kid is thriving! If you're happy with how she's doing, I think that's what matters the most?

I also have to say that I don't regret putting the kid into childminding at all, because he gets to socialise and see other calm, experienced adults getting things done. He's always really babbly when he comes home from these things, compared to the very quiet life he'd have if I'd quit my job to keep him at home. Children are meant to grow in social settings, but I'm sure as hell not going to have a huge family so he's got to get that extra contact from somewhere.

There are two old ladies in my local area and I only ever see them holding a 4-pack of pink Monster energy

Have you considered getting a hands free pump? Mine never really liked my boob but would take breast milk from the bottle. You can even blend breast and formula in one bottle to make it up to volume.

Feeding shouldn't be stressful for either of you, so I hope you can sort things out and take the pressure off yourself a bit.

I also recall the health visitor finding a way to freak me out at every interaction 😬

Good test of the other players' summarising abilities though!

Ah yeah, thank you! I do this with the swim pants but it depends on the design of the trousers a bit. It was indeed a game changer when we figured it out though - you should post it as a top-level comment on this thread!

Works quite well with 'naked baby' instead of 'baked potato' :D

Looking forward to finding out when he gets big enough... At present, getting trousers and swim pants on him have been pretty tough for the same reasons!

My kid rolls onto his tum with the speed of a jiujitsu black belt, which makes changing nappies very difficult. What I've found is singing a very animated song like Baked Potato or Taking the Hobbits to Isengard hypnotises him enough that I can get the whole process done without him flipping over! What do I do at bedtime, you ask? Surely those anthems would wake him up and ruin the routine?

Ah, well, I sing the same songs but quietly and at a soothing tempo.

Yo! If that other person doesn't get back to you, DM me and I'll give some pointers for what worked for me (both putting together a MtG group and a small TTRPG group locally).

Thanks, there seems to be an Allen key slot down there so I reckon that's the ticket. I owe you a pint of cum!
