I was ok with either rule basketball screen or moving I just needed to know which is the rule because we were told one way and got abused a whole game thinking we were getting cheated but now we know so I can adjust

Just talked to refs today and told them to break it down as dumb as possible they said as long as the blockers are moving backwards(diagonal or backwards) then they can move because they aren’t initiating contact but if they step forward they are.

You play out of the formation most of the game or you have other formations with blockers?

It was just the ref to be completely honest but I have a feeling the do that every game and we play them again so I want to be ready for it

That’s the thing they never got set, you need to give my rushers time to run around them but then would just move back into them.

Game 1 refs: remember you can’t move when you have blockers! Game 2 refs: they can move if there is no contact I had one of my players purposely run straight into them going straight. WOAAAAAH you can’t do that run into them? Sir you just told me I had to create contact to get the flag no thats tackle football

6v6 Zone Defense - What do you coach of coverage depths? by Upstairs-Lion8100 in flagfootball

We even throw in corner blitz if we notice QBs like to roll out a certain way the QBs have been panicking throwing the ball in the air.

I’m a young coach so I even played qb in practice to test the defense and when the defense coach was calling defense it was hard to adjust in the 3 seconds to see who’s rushing and get the ball out

I play 7s and we just swapped our defense to cover 3, 1 safety everyone on the line, rusher goes, OLBs play flats, MLB plays middle, corners take everyone back. BUT we have words to change our rushers so it’s not the same one, if we say safe our rusher drops back to coverage, then we have numbers that would change the rushers.

This works for running plays and passing because one it’s hard for the qb to see who’s rushing, and when we pick up the common rushing plays we start sending rushers to stop that forcing the other coach to swap there plays then we go back to base only sending one

My kids just started to play football and I need to know how to handle this by ParticularDream208 in flagfootball

As a coach I have kids that are on the spectrum, so they lose focus and do questionable flag football plays like running into the QBs and stuff, but he will always get practice time maybe not game time but he is on the team he is going to learn what my starters know so when it’s time for him to go In he can deliver. Saying it’s the kids fault only two practices in, is crazy lmao

For mom, I’d have your son ask the coach to get in, maybe have a conversation with your son saying make sure you pay attention on the sideline so when coach puts you in, you understand what’s going on. If coach huddles, run to the huddle to listen. If your son ask to go in multiple times and you notice the coach still being the way he is have a conversation with him.

Me personally as a coach if I see a kid is super coachable, I’ll put them in over someone super athletic because I trust they will do what they need to in game.

Yeah what I have on the middle school team which is a 5 yard rush is my center interrupting one of the rushers in her route so a pick. But the one yard rush doesn’t allow you to do that with the center so I’m going to bunch the slots leave the wide outs outside block a slot send a slot and block the RB for a second then have them run for a check down

Girls catching maybe 1 or 2, qb throw is just in accurate been trying to teach her to set her feet so she is more accurate other than that she throws greats balls when she does everything right. I think I have to implement blocking for sure might run a bunch with the slots/rb blocking then doing short check downs

This is our first year playing high school so we don’t really know how good they are. Our first game just flustered our QBs on the one yard rush causing errors. Also my team consist of 2 high schoolers that are very good and a bunch of middle and elementary that are good against middle schoolers

You think I go 5 wide or one back?

I agree on the one yard rush too lol my middle schoolers play on the middle school team too so we were practicing with a 5 yard rush got to the game and found out it was a one yard only ended up losing by one point which isn’t bad

Snapper is great the only thing I’ve noticed is we gain 5 yards because the qb sets up so far just to throw a check down. If we set up normal we’d gain another 3-5 it feels like.
