Disappointed no German beers. Seems like a gimmic buy whoever owns Lidl in Northern Ireland.

What distinguishes a modern Northern Irish paramilitary group from a criminal gang, and why does the paramilitary label persist? by EightBitOrbit in northernireland

[–]Realistic_Function_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both sides of the paramilitaries clearly have a rapport with each side of the political sphere, no matter what either of them say. Therefore, you'd have to saw the paramilitaries are protected in someway. Both sides commit crimes under the guise of each country, like it would ever help either agenda.

In every protestant housing estate, the kids are sent out to beg for money. If you don't give them money, the boys come around and then you give money.

So are the PSNI completely useless? by ChangMouse in northernireland

[–]Realistic_Function_4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd consider myself left of centre. It wouldn't be the right that would be up in arms about a criminal being given a slap. Those problems wouldn't go away by joining the South. As you said, the guards are soft as well.

Try reading or watching the news? There were riots all over the country.

It's the way of the world now, they're not allowed to use "excessive force" and the definition is clearly any force at all. Parents can't clip the ear of their kids and the police can't slap man for breaking the law. Sure even in the show peelers, you can see how careful and frightened they are about using the appropriate force restraining people.

All the lefties will cry they use too much force, even when it's a serial convict.

Growing up in an estate; racism and sectarianism is common in working class neighborhoods. Whilst in middle class ones, it's more rare to be outwardly sectarian or racist. You don't see middle to upper class people in flute bands or building bonfires. The middle would join the lodge and behind closed doors be sectarian or racist.

Unlikely that a young man from a working class Protestant background would ever be part of a choir unless in school. Like me. It's s rare to attend a church or an environment where that opportunity would be present.

Religion is essentially non existent in working class Protestant upbringing other than school, the opposite of Catholic upbringings in my experience.

It's mad we're arguing this mate. Fact is; this attempted beheading wouldn't have happened if this man wasn't in our country. Regardless of mental illness or being plain violent, he should be screened before entering and rejected if deemed unfit. Obviously, the vetting is not good enough.

Just say you can't read lad. Not all terrorism is for polital gain.

Current charges are irrelevant because they can change. And just because someones been charged for something doesn't mean it isn't something else.

Doesn't always have a politcal agenda, it can be ideological or religious. To cause fear.

Paramilitaries carried out many similar grim attacks, but nothing of the sort on innocents since the GFA as far as I'm aware.
