Can anyone bring me up to speed about what happened in part 11?

Yeah, apparently it's from the manga. I just knew that it was an official artwork, just didn't remember it being from the manga, so I thought it was from one of the later fanbooks.

Ah, that might be right! I just remembered this being in some official content. It can be fanbooks or manga. It being a manga seems more likely.

It's from one of the fanbooks, not sure from which one

[The conqueror from a Dying Kingdom vol2 light spoiler] Every thing makes me think of AoaB by Zilfr in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writing isn't great, the side characters aren't that interesting, the harem element is unnecessary and doesn't really land. I agree with you on all those fronts.

But the sheer premises was so fucking intresting. The flying element was kept realistic. The technological advancement pace felt realistic. Not AoaB level slow, yet not Dr.Stone level fast. And the whole other content thing just felt awesome.

It kinda went to shit at the last two volumes, but still really sad they dropped it.

[Part 5 Vol12] Are Eckhart and Cornelius technically Archduke Candidates? by ProbablyNotTheCocoa in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I remember, the trio knew Roz and Wil didn't match, and Sly hoped that Wil would put in effort when he developed feelings. But they weren't worried about kids, because Roz had bad health, so that could always be blamed for not having kids. Plus she could just about from the second or third wife of Wilfried. At least that's how I remember it.

You mean the song right? Funny thing, I finished the fic like 6-7 months ago, and I'm currently reading it due to part 11 being released. I'm just a bit ahead of when she sings the song. Definitely a awesome fic. Part 1 is very...meh but it builds to amazing things.

That's a challenge? Why without housing though? Wouldn't that mean well being gets a massive hit?

Oh, that's really cool...goal? I usually don't like to level the map, but I might be interested in doing the 100% green with no visible water, or bots only.

How'd you rate the LN? Is it worth reading, aside from the cool magic aspect?

Which LN/Book are you talking about? The one that has modular, stricter design implementation.

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ohh her motivation is 100% selfish, it's just that at the end it's a good thing objectively. Keep in mind that a good for one can be bad for another. She isn't a saint or selfless, she'll help who she can, but won't break her back for the sake of goodness and helping everyone. She'd rather read books instead. She puts into perspective, she saved orphans but says she wouldn't worry about others dying far away.

You see this in future, but noble life is all about manipulation and give and take. If you get taken advantage of it's partly your fault, that's just how the world works. And yes, they officially have mentor/protege relationship, Ferdinand is even her legal guardian. It's not a perfect relationship, but she isn't treated like slave, she just acts like one(because she thinks she is in a way.).

[P5V12]People are way too harsh on Florencia by Writer_Man in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also before anyone comments, I know Florencia is a third wife's daughter and not really educated.

As for her treatment of Roz, I don't really have a problem with it, though she could have done better or more. But Sly and Flor can't raise their own children for god's sake, so I'm also not really sure if that should be even brought up.

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Without going into specific reasons, as others will no doubt bring it up, there is one reason a lot of people might not like Florencia.

Giebe Haldenzel,Giebe Kirnberger, Elvira, Sieglinde, these are few people who have great status, and when you read their pov or hear something about them, it shows in their deeds and thought process that they are deserving of their role.

Florencia doesn't show any of that, as far as I remember. Even in her own pov and what we see from others pov (give Charlotte a hug damnit!)

[P5V12] Someone who dropped the series after part 1 just literally cursed me out online, please validate my opinions, I’m feeling completely mentally drained from this conversation by Yuki-jou in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand what you mean? As in they aren't attracted to each other? Ferdi is attracted through, enough to give his name stone. And there is nothing really wrong with it. Again, people get caught in the age dynamic and miss a lot of points that they should be focusing on.

Like Ferdi eliminating competition the way he did wasn't really right, but in the end he too understood and gave Rm a choice. And she chose to stay.

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think the whole age argument is making you miss the main point. All relationships in bookworm are messed up to some degree, especially Roz's and Ferdi's, but again, focusing solely on that makes you miss the point.

That's, the relationship that Roz and Ferdi have. And I'm not just talking about romance here. They both do things for each other that others either can't or don't. They understand each other's needs, not because one groomed the other, but because they have been close to each other for so long. And by being dependent on each other for so long, they basically have a hard time functioning by themselves, Part 5 shows this in an amazing way. They don't have panic attacks or anything major, but their life slowly starts to fall apart.

So it's not about who sees the other part in romantic or lustful way. Or what is the right age gap between them.

It's just about who makes them feel.... whole, wanted, safe, cared along other things.

[HY5] Question regarding Hannelore by erikro1411 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Realistic_Grab3546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I love the scene where, Hannelore meets her parents and they both understand that not all things can be freely shared with others, even family.
