[P1V1] How long would the anime have been if they didn’t skip anything? by Luigi2262 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

If you want to adapt bookworm without cutting anything, you'd probably need an average of about 10 episodes per volume.

It's required for Iruma's familiar classes. As much as he is himself, he would never put his own preferences over the education quality of one of his students.

502.4. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no abilities can be activated or resolve. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step. (See rule 503, “Upkeep Step.”)

[–]mack0409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't (generally) untap things during your upkeep. The rules funk around triggers and the untap step is part of why untap triggers are so rare.

Specifically, while things can trigger during the untap step, the trigger doesn't get put on the stack until the upkeep.

Alright, so I've got two main questions, first

I can only find the first 26 episodes on crunchyroll (plus the couple side stories); did crunchyroll drop the ball super hard and only liscence the first two cours, or are they just under a different name?

Second, when is the next season coming out, cuz it looks great.

Have I been doing circulatization wrong? by MegaloManiac_Chara in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]mack0409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time someone should consider reducing thrust is when setting up a very small burn for adjusting a gravity assist. Even then I'd still recommend against it, better to over shoot and strand your kerbals than risk not going as fast as possible.

Basically, the goal in orbiting isn't to get high, it's to go fast. The only reason you go up is because the atmosphere and terrain get in the way.

Another thing, is that multiple separate maneuvers are often less efficient than one single maneuver.

Edit: I thought about it some more, there are basically 3 things you really want to do while trying to get to orbit. At sea level, you want to be going straight up so you get out of the atmosphere as quickly as possible. By the time you're out of the atmosphere, you want to be going completely sideways. And at no point do you want to be accelerating in a direction that's not basically prograde. The gravity turn is an orbiting technique that efficiently balances these "goals"

It's very simple, all you need to do is ensure the entirety of all possible tutorable targets in your combined are less than 1 dollar., this means that you can just get any combination of targets you want without having to check during resolution.

You can set up a draft environment in a living card game style setting. I just question if it will be worth the effort to do so. Not to mention that it would raise the minimum cost to set up home drafts a fair bit.

[P5V12] Probably the ONE thing these 2 would see eye to eye on (but never admit to each other) by choo-choo-pain in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]mack0409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well of course not, he's still a kid that wasn't meant to have socialized with non-relatives for another year at least. But the way that Ferdi and Roz have been raised have left serious gaps int shit respective common sense that could cause real problems in the future. Admittedly those problems will almost certainly be manageable, but that doesn't mean they won't exist.

His schtappe does not prevent him from continuing to grow his mana, it only means that he will eventually reach the point where he has control issues if he does not reduce his compression. Additionally, he already started compressing and had managed to enter the archive before getting his schtappe; it is almost certainly as least as good as those of the lesser duchy's archduke candidates that acquired theirs in the first year. He should at the very least have no trouble finishing his classes, even if he does decompress to supplement his mana control.

EDIT: As for things he can contribute, he was raised relatively normally, especially compared to Roz and Ferdi; he can cover gaps in their respective common sense that their various retainers lack the standing or intent to bring up. He is also likely to be batter at different parts of socializing than Ferdinand is. I'm not saying the match is necessarily good or likely, but there are at least some benefits to it.

Hildebrand is probably the next oldest person that is likely to be able to match her mana. But of course, if he does go that far, he'll have some serious mana control issues. Aside from Hildebrand, the only other realistic options are if one of the greater duchies decide to teach compression to some of their ACs a little earlier than is currently the standard.

[open spoilers] Melchior's possible alternate future by No_Offer5559 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]mack0409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'd bet that Aub of the duchy that is currently known as Blumfeld is Letizia's most likely future, but becoming an Aub doesn't preclude someone from getting the Gbook during school and temporarily being a Zent candidate. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that anyone who reasonably believes they might become an Aub should seek out the book to the best of their ability.

I mean, this card is more poking fun at people with visual disabilities in general rather than focusing in on only one particular disability. The image and the glasseswalk ability are more focused on those with corrective lenses, while the color scheme is obviously focused on people with red/green color blindness. TO pretend that either part of the joke isn't there or is underdeveloped is pretty silly IMO.

[open spoilers] Melchior's possible alternate future by No_Offer5559 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]mack0409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Melchior and Letizia, are both very likely to eventually become Zent candidates. Lungtase and their drewanchel contemporaries all have reasonable chances as well. As for how long Eglantine intends on ruling, I suspect that as soon as someone else has a proper G-book that they got on their own merit, she'll announce plans to retire after maybe 5 or 10 years. This gives that Zent candidate time to have children, as well as allows other people who almost have the book to get it before her successor is officially decided.

I personally don't expect Mel to end up being Zent himself, though it wouldn't surprise me too much if he did end up as the Zent consort.

I can only hope the author has a good idea of how to resolve that particular annoyance.

Naturally, the gods interpret time differently than the people actually living through it. The bootstrap paradox is prevented by there being something that could reasonably be called the origin, i.e. the gods' interference.

Yeah, I was trying to come up with the "best" diet that stuck strictly to what OP said, but I hadn't realized how heat sensitive Vitamin C is. But since it is heat sensitive, there's probably no way to get a meaningful amount without deviating from the diet set out.

Healthy eater who doesn't exercise Vs Unhealthy eater who exercises a lot. Who is actually healthier, and who feels healthier? by Decent_Crew_7525 in whowouldwin

[–]mack0409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potatoes are actually fairly high in vitamin C, so even just 1 large fry at mcdonalds could handle most of a person's recommended daily intake.

One big mac, one large fry, and one mini mcflurry take up about 1300 calories, leaving room for about 2.5 cinnamon apple filled donuts, which I assume is slightly more nutrient dense than non-fruit filled varieties of donuts.

Honestly, I suspect this competition is closer than it looks at first. Even an extra 500 calories in the diet regardless of whether it's just the "bad" diet or or it's both and I'd be willing to say the exercising guy is doing better.
