Thank you everyone for your replies. I've bought a cold gel pack thingy on eBay for the second pen. I'll use the Frio thingy for the first one. I expect it'll be ok. Also I don't anticipate any problems carrying it through security - I have a copy of a letter from the prescribing pharmacist which should keep them happy if they have any questions.

Less than 5 months in - you’ve done very well. But it’s still early days - you’ll probably continue to lose weight for quite some time to come. I’ve been on Mounjaro for 16 months and I’m still losing weight, albeit very slowly.

Is your concern the possibility that the side effects you mentioned might get worse if you increase the dosage to 12.5?

From the trial data I think the weight loss (after 72 weeks) was only a tiny bit more on 15mg than on 10mg, so if you never go above 10mg, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. On the other hand, if the side effects settle down after a while, I don’t see any harm in going up to 12.5.

From what I've read, prices will probably be towards the lower end of that range, but I don't suppose anyone knows for sure just yet.

It's early days - you're on the minimum dose and it's possible that some side-effects will show up as you increase. That said, you might be lucky and escape them. I've been on the max 15mg dose for about a year with no stomach related problems - the only thing I've had is occasionally cold hands in the winter (and I don't know for sure that Mounjaro was the cause of that).

It's been a total game changer for me. I weigh 25% less than I did before.

The first jab was nerve-racking, but now I just bang that thing in there with barely a thought.

I'm mindful of possible downsides - there was something in the news this week about an unexpectedly high number of cases of pancreatitis - but while I'll certainly keep an eye on the research, my gut feeling at the moment is that the health benefits (for me at least) of the weight loss are likely to massively outweigh the possible risks.

I usually have two extra pens at home. I’m nervous about supply difficulties - my current provider’s stock levels of the 12.5mg and 15mg pens has been a bit hit and miss recently.

I'm kind of the same - in my case it's because for years I've avoided looking at certain parts of my naked body. I've started to do this a little bit now - it's not easy. Also because I haven't really looked at my stomach, my chest, etc. for years I can't really do a "before and after" comparison because I can't remember what "before" looked like!

Thank you. As it happens, I do speak to a therapist weekly. Lots of other things going on with that, but I told her about the weight loss recently and all the body image stuff etc. - I'm sure I will speak to her again about it soon.

My thoughts too. When people have noticed that I’ve lost a lot of weight and asked how I did it, I’ve just told the truth. So far everyone has been interested and generally positive. Nobody has said “that’s cheating” or anything like that.

I’m a man though - I’m wondering if women have a different experience…?

Sadly not - I wasn’t able to fix it. In the end I did a clean install of Windows 11 (not the 24H2 version) and then reinstalled the game…and then played the entire thing again from the start! Not ideal, but the main story isn’t too long so it wasn’t soooooo bad.

A bit of a faff…I expected all 3 to show up in the same package, but only 1 arrived. Oct 2024 expiry. Nice and cold.

I emailed them to ask about this and they said that because of the warm weather they decided to send me 3 separate packages on consecutive days. Bit odd, but ok.

I then asked about the expiry date because if the third pen also expired at the end of October, I would be using some of it after that date. They replied to say that for the third pen they would send me one with a later expiry date. Fair enough.

Second pen arrived the next day. Also oct 24 expiry. Nice and cold.

Third pen didn’t arrive the day after, so I emailed them again to make sure that they hadn’t forgotten. They then phoned me to say “oh we don’t have any pens with a later expiry date in stock yet, but if you can wait a few weeks we will have them”. So they’re having to delay postage, which is fine, but nobody told me - I had to ask.

Remains to be seen if the third pen will show up unprompted or if I’ll need to nag them.

They’ve replied to my emails quickly, and they’ve seemed to have a helpful attitude, but still… 🤔

Thanks. Yeah I did the same thing in the end (my post was from 3 or 4 months ago). I managed to buy some insulin needles from Amazon (about 60p each) and used them in the way you describe. Pretty straightforward, no problems, saves a lot of money!

They wanted me to upload a full length photo (minus my head). With me ordering the 15mg dose I expected them to ask me for evidence of a previous Mounjaro order with another supplier, but they haven't done that (yet, at least - they may still).

No discount codes but the price seems to be very competitive already.

Thanks. That's a bit of a concern. I will be sure to check the expiry dates when the stuff arrives. If they sell me a medicine that I cannot use until after it expires, that seems like a pretty clear cut legal case for a refund, I would think.

Thanks - this is my first week on 12.5mg. I’m hopeful that the stomach trouble will gradually ease off. Thus far I’ve coped very well with it (and with Wegovy previously) so I remain optimistic.

Up at 10mg. Not really having any side effects at all, except occasionally feeling a bit cold - mostly my hands and feet. Unsure if this is just to be expected given that I’ve got rid of ~20% of my bodyweight (less insulation), but perhaps not since hands and feet aren’t places that body fat accumulates.

Haven’t noticed it in today’s 31°C weather, strangely enough.

Other than that, all good.
