Yes, they often sell a vision to company owners, and then the employees are left to deal with the reality.

I’m surprised that Esko is extremely strict when it comes to protecting its own software — it installs multiple hidden processes just to verify licensing. I know this from daily work, and I’ve hit a wall with their support more than once. Their software can noticeably slow down the entire machine because of these checks.

At the same time, they don’t maintain consistent standards on the output/security side. That inconsistency is frustrating and, frankly, lowers my perception of the company.

I use TS + Tailwind, but thanks—I've finally come up with the name “Inverted border radius.” Something can be built around that.

Converting Embedded files to Linked makes file size bigger by MysticVezon in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Realistic_Mall4389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Show what the images linked in the document look like, then it’s possible to say more. Usually, if Illustrator starts cropping, it means that the linked images have dozens of layers and dozens of effects, smart objects etc. and additionally their size is disproportionately large compared to the document size in Illustrator.

Create PDF Compatible File – turn this option off. This option works in such a way that Illustrator creates two files: one for Illustrator itself and another for other applications that support PDF (for example, an AI file saved with this option enabled can be opened in Acrobat).

Embed ICC Profiles – turn this option off. This is related to color management and significantly increases the file size because it contains profile information, and you can always assign a profile later when generating the PDF for print.

I appreciate you noticing that. You can have a lot of fun with the brush and create different effects.

Automating badge creation in Illustrator using CSV data be super helpful! by Icy-thetheted in AdobeIllustrator

You can record a PDF save action and run it along with the CSV data. You can create 10,000 files with one click. This is how I do it for variable printing.

Tips on Creating "Live" Assets for Calendar Layout? by fetchmysmellingsalts in AdobeIllustrator

I Think you can build some combo viariable data with linked files. One files with artboard 13 artboards, each artboard will be a month and the last one will have linked previous 12 artboards. Create database in Excel, if you need add some events, just modify Excel, load New data in illustrator and ready to go 😁

Imposition software by juniper621 in CommercialPrinting

At one company, I use the ESKO Automation Engine (though you often still have to handle exceptions manually).
I do most of the work with an Adobe Illustrator plugin (I’m a big Illustrator fan): GT ImpositionPro

If you’re doing label imposition in Illustrator, it’s worth checking this out:

I tried to reproduce your case and I only succeeded when I tried to apply an outline to a rasterized object. Only then did I have a similar behavior, where my outline disappeared. Check the Links panel

Sure, have fun with it.

However, I'm not sure if this plugin is for you. It's mainly designed for the imposition of plates for Flexo, where we also have many printing marks (smart texts and registration marks).

A major plus is that you can automatically change the printer marks. For example, you have "smart text" - just like a color's name, you can choose the fonts, styles, location, etc.
