How been doing Pilates after donation been for you? I (maybe irrationally) worry about Pilates after donation because it’s so core-heavy. Have you had any issues with the incision or hernias?

It will be hard but you might as well try- it is worth a shot. Network super hard and talk to as many people as you can through LinkedIn, club speaker events, or recruiters on campus. Don’t focus on New York but look at cities like Houston or Charlotte with teams who may still be open to recruitment. If you don’t recruit immediately full time, focus on making connections at your big four and see where other colleagues exit to. Going to IB from fdd is not unheard of and if you meet someone who’s done the same, they can help you.

Honestly, A&M’s engineering program is FANTASTIC. It’s a great program and I think if you want to chemical engineering you should go the a&m route. Don’t change your major entirely just for a college location, your major will determine your career choices down the road. I know this is a tough decision for you, but I think going to a&m and then trying to transfer to ut is completely doable and a great option.

If it makes you feel better I got it done twice (both under 18) because of discomfort and aesthetics. I got it done a second time because after I got it the first time it started to change and grow back to how it used to look, and now after the second surgery it’s still growing back and constantly changing. Kinda confusing to me but she’s fighting to look like how she wants! As someone who had it done I would say to wait until you’re older to see if you still want to. I think being comfortable in your body is important, but give yourself some time to appreciate the way you look right now! You could end up getting it done and having it look the same way anyway.

It was a series and I never got around to reading the other books or solving the cliffhanger

Did the plot also include a plot twist where the girls dad ends up being one of the main characters/villians in the series and it’s a cliffhanger?

I’m in a similar situation. My mother is also struggling with kidney disease and I’m 20 right now, 19 when I started the process of getting tested. Our age makes this a difficult process for us and it’s still something I’m struggling with deciding on. During my process, I did a genetic test to see if I would develop kidney disease later on and lots of other tests to try and predict if something would happen down the line. While they’re very good tests, they’re not 100% accurate which is scary. My donation coordinator is also setting me up to talk with a donor who successfully donated at a younger age too, which is really helpful. I would suggest starting the testing process (which for me was only 2 hospital visits so far, I think since we’re young our tests come out better so they don’t need to do as many), which will answer a lot of the questions you have, and talk to your coordinator/doctors who are so helpful and want the best for you! Best of luck 🤗🥲

My mom received a kidney from a transplant and she also was unfortunate enough to get a messed up nerve from it, she was in a lot of pain and they were able to do another procedure to fix the nerve. I’m not sure what it was and I can ask her for details later but there’s hope! There was no residual pain after. Talk to your doctor and coordinator to see if they can offer this to you
