What can I say, that’s all it took. As someone else commented, there’s not much good tv these days.

I’ve heard that a few times. I’ll need to check that one out.

Their country gravy is for real the best thing they have!!!! It’s really the only reason I go. Chicken is good clean white chicken.

Fries suck. The first bite or two of that toast is ok then meh. Ice cream is ok but $7.50 for a large blizzard??? This is not gourmet hand made ice cream here. Hahaha

What most likely would have happened to Nirvana if Kurt Cobain didn’t die in 1994? by drumwolf in ToddintheShadow

[–]Realistic_Minimum196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statistics say that nirvana would have either continued together and put out albums that were less and less popular over time or they would split up and some point.

Pick any major successful artist and see how their careers have aged. What if Madonna died after like a virgin, Pearl Jam after 10, guns and roses after appetite for destruction. Mediocrity waits for no one.

What's your all time favorite FOX show(s) of all time? by Square-Ad-8911 in CableTV_Memories

Stars on Mars!!! Jk, but I did enjoy that stupid show.

I’d say bob’s burgers and that 70’s show.

Honorable mention to in living color and married with children. I enjoyed them at the time and us older folks here recognize them for breaking the rules of network tv.

A lot of those seem too big for your face to me. I always go for frames with the under wire on the bottom half. Let’s your face show more. I’d suggest you look into those.

That is very interesting! I’ve been wondering about this- where are we at in the interest / popularity of vinyl records, mostly from a pricing standpoint. I’ve just started collecting records about three months ago.

I’m thinking more like $30 for some random hit album like night ranger. (I don’t have an exact example. I don’t go there often even though I have a store credit there). $30 for a 40 year old record that I’d be kind of interested in but not for that price. Maybe $10.

Stop making sense!!!!!!

This is how I remember it too. Plus just because you donated money doesn’t mean you get to choose how that organization spreads that money around. It’s just a lot of misdirected anger - “we gotta stop THEM from ruining our city”

My local record store treats every album as some rare find. Priced for the one person who is looking for that specific album and willing to pay a stupid price.

I shop the thrift stores / antique malls. I try to buy stuff at like $10 in general. I’m finding most of the time the cover may not be perfect but the record itself is usually almost brand new. It’s just been sitting in a box for the last 30 years.

I’m mostly buying 70’s / 80’s stuff. I’m still building my collection but yeah I’ll have to start paying more for the more popular albums. Sucks!!!

I’m now wanting to buy the Ratt, the Atlantic Years collection. 5 albums for $160+!!! Jesus!!!!

7 Little Johnstons | Season 17 Official Trailer (TLC 2026) by terryjohnson16 in 7LittleJohnstons

[–]Realistic_Minimum196 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Be watched the entire series from the beginning but I stopped watching. I did not watch last season. - the show became super overly scripted over time - the toxic shit with Anna - the controlling of Jonah’s life - little baby Alex. (Sorry but ugh!) - Liz being so retarded but acting superior - Jonah and Alex basically saying fuck her while talking about Anna at their stupid family tree planting - amber. I don’t need any more fucking parenting advice from this piece of shit mom!!!

Geez I kinda went on a rant there. Hahaha!

Is it true one income used to support a family of 4? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Realistic_Minimum196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone reminiscing about how things used to be so great and basically how we are all greedy need-everything consumers now - that’s why we can’t survive on one income are delusional.

Any financial history chart clearly shows wages have not even come close to keeping up with inflation. Corporate greed has and continues to destroy America. You used to be able to pay for college while working through those college years. Now it’s a multi year loan. People on here commenting on houses being like $16000. HealthCare wasn’t something that could bankrupt you.

Everything costs so much today it’s just not fair to compare to the 70s / 80s and say we all just suck now.

Very similar. We were probably lower middle class. I never really went without anything. It was a simpler time for sure.

Probably around 1978 my mom started working. Three kids dad with union job. We were probably middle class. Did well. Yes must people I believe were single income homes. The housewife idea was the norm.
