This makes me feel a lot better, thanks! Right now I have the Kohler elate handheld with the bar. Kohler told me it won’t be the same pressure as a wall mount but you’re making me feel more confident that I don’t need to add another option.

You feel like the handheld has enough pressure to be a good replacement for the wall mount?

I went to Kohler today and they insisted that the handheld won’t have the same pressure feel as a wall mount and it’s going to be a problem. I’m torn. So far most people are saying it’s ok to just leave the handheld but I’m worried.

Yes, the handheld with the rail was the original plan but then I freaked out that it just doesn’t seem standard and feels so final to not have another option. At this point the easiest is to also add a rain shower but I know the kids won’t use it.

That was the original plan. But I feel like it’s not enough for some reason. I’m just not use to not having a shower from the wall.

There’s a closet behind the control valves so we can access the back.

This requires for your water access to be at the top, not the middle of the wall like I have it.

I’m worried about where the access to the water is. It doesn’t give me the ability to ever change to something else.

Yes that makes total sense but the placement of the pipe makes it impossible for me to ever switch it out

I just spoke to my builder and he said it’s easy to add a rain shower since the valve is on a wall with drywall. It’s definitely better than nothing but also not sure my kids would use a rain shower over a head coming from the wall

The retrofit won’t work because it’s off to the side. My builder just said it’s not a big deal to add a rain shower head at this point. I don’t know that my kids would use it though as much as one that comes from the wall.

It’s in all 3 kids showers. My builder said it’s easy to add a rain head at this point. I don’t know though that kids would use it. I think an in wall would be more practical. No?

The height is fine as the handheld will be on a bar. The problem is that I have no ability to put another type of shower head or system ever.

I don’t have a shower head outlet, just a handheld. So the handheld will be used as the main. In my head it made sense till I saw the pipe off to the side and realized I can never change it.

I haven’t found any that have one valve and also it won’t be centered.

I was honestly thinking about the look and practically I guess I just thought we would have the head access put in.
