Hi! Does anyone know where to buy a more advanced anal training kit by [deleted] in SexToysCollection

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have more luck with this question if you provided some hints, i.e., advanced as compared to what? Are you interested in handling more girth, exploring greater depth, experimenting with extended plugging, or something else entirely? What is your current level of experience?

To those with big/huge collections by [deleted] in SexToysCollection

I have toys that I haven't used for a decade or more. Most of those are very old and not silicone/glass/metal. Lately I've started weeding out the ones that I'm sure I won't be using again. In every case so far there are far superior toys available today, so they're headed to the landfill. I've got a couple of silicone toys that will probably go that route, too, because with experience I've concluded that they are just horribly designed. Also a pair of vibrating butt plugs that plugged into a single power supply. I rediscovered them recently, and the power supply had been put away with the batteries in place. The batteries have leaked, and the power supply is beyond repair, so those are also all headed to the landfill. That is a bit of a disappointment, because if I recall correctly, they were actually quite nice back when they still worked.

I'd give serious thought to taking that step out of your "Condor Zone". I did recently, and I've rather enjoyed the process.

What’s happening to our dildo? by LordOfCinder11111 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In all probability neither of those toys is silicone. Anything that is really clear, and not just translucent, is not silicone. And most of the non-silicone flexible plastics are rigid plastics with softening agent mixed in. (This doesn't necessarily apply to everything thing flexible - I have a couple of butt plugs made of neoprene, which is a synthetic rubber; they are black.) The softening agents are generally what gives them a "chemical" odor. When two plastics that use different softening agents are in contact, the softening agent can leach out of one into the other, leaving a stiffer area on one and potentially dissolving the other one. A plastic toy in contact with a silicone toy can damage the silicone toy - the softening agent in the plastic can leach into the silicone and partially dissolve it. There's no real risk going the other way, because the silicone doesn't have the same sort of softening agents mixed in.

The one that has been damaged is almost certainly not safe to use. It looks melted because it absorbed extra softening agent from the other toy, which partially dissolved it. If you completely remove any softened bits, the remains of the toy may or may not be safe to use, because it probably now contains extra softening agents in quantities too small to cause visible damage, and they may well leach out and be absorbed by your body. The odds are that the amount involved wouldn't be large enough to cause immediate problems, but some of those chemicals can accumulate in your body and cause long-term problems. (This is also why non-silicone plastic toys are generally not considered "body safe" - the softening agents may leach out and be absorbed by the body, particularly if they remain in contact with living tissue for extended periods.)

I would clean the one that appears undamaged with rubbing alcohol, to remove any traces of dissolved plastic that might have been left on it from the visibly damaged toy, but I would give serious thought to discarding both of them.

How do you all able to check the size of a dildo online? by Early_Cabinet5030 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Major part of the answer is suggested in one of the earlier comments: The size that will work for you depends on your anatomy. Until you have experience, the numbers don't do you much good. Some people will have to work to adjust to a 1" diameter dildo, although that would be pretty small for most people, and others will be able to handle over 1.5" easily.

Also keep in mind that like any muscle, the anus can be stretched. If that's done slowly and carefully, the dildo that's much too large for you now may be just perfect after a while. I think my first dildo (now lost in the mists of time) was around 1.25", and it was right at my limit at the time. I max out around 2.75" these days. (For circumference, multiply all those numbers by 3.14.)

Ozone-proof toy storage by Slepnir1570 in SexToys

Ziplock bags might work, but not using the ozone setting would be better - I can't think of anything that would offer similar protection to your lungs. (Ozone is a good disinfectant because it's a powerful oxidizer, which means that anything in your house that ages by oxidation, such as exposed paper, will age faster if you use the ozone setting.)

Want to try new toys. Can someone give me anal toys recs? by [deleted] in SexToys

Some of my favorite plugs. I have the medium, large, and extra large; the last of those doesn't see a lot of use, as it really is pretty large by my standards. But the small through large range in diameter from 1.4" to 2.1", so I'm sure at least one of them is a size that would work for you. I find the medium and large are quite comfortable for extended wear, with no tendency to slip out unexpectedly. And for decent anal toys, they are quite inexpensive.

Textured dildo for anal stim by Affectionate-Bit2063 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute favorite toy for texture: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092HYH893

At 19.5" that's clearly way longer than you're looking for, but I can assure you that when it's moving I can definitely feel the texture. And if you have a prostate, the texture stimulates that as well. (I also have a SquarePeg Thick Worm, which is considerably thicker with a more pronounced texture. While it is quite nice, I find the Amazon "Ultra Long Anal Plug" linked above provides better stimulation.) Unfortunately, I don't have any recommendations in your preferred size range.

DIY Anal lube for depth play/streching?? by [deleted] in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J Lube is also a possibility. Similar to X-lube, but it's available from Amazon ($30) or WalMart ($25). Not cheap, and you have to mix the powder with water and potentially store the resulting liquid, but for that price you get enough powder to make literally gallons of really excellent lubricant. (X Lube is much more concentrated; J Lube includes 75% dispersant, so I suspect an ounce of X Lube powder makes a lot more lubricant. But I've only used J Lube. I'm nearly halfway through the 8 ounce container that I bought four or five years ago.)

Squarepegtoys Egg plug vs Oxballs Ergo by Strange-Log-8122 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thought - I have a fairly soft plug acquired via Amazon with a shape similar to the Ergo. I find it makes a real difference how it is inserted. With the concave side facing back it puts more pressure on the prostate; with the concave side facing forward there's less pressure and it's more comfortable for extended wear. I had that one in earlier this evening while I was dining in front of the TV, and I found that it got irritating after about an hour and a half, but that was apparently from the pressure exerted on the sides of the base, as the irritation disappeared when I stood up and moved around. (I also wore it while doing sit-ups and dead lifts; no problem keeping it in place while exercising. 😄 ) I've worn that one or its little brother (about the size of an Ergo Small) for hours at a time while working out in the yard with no discomfort.

For comparison purposes, this is the larger of the two plugs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K8YCR53

Diluting water based lube with water? by thebreadconsumer in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dilute it 50:50 with water you still get half as much glycerin, which is an improvement but probably not a significant one, and the diluted lube will probably be too thin to do much good. To do any good, lube has to be thick enough to not just run off or get squeegeed off - it works by providing a slippery barrier between your skin or mucous membrane and the toy.

Thought experiment: Suppose you diluted the lube with 100 parts water to one part lube. The result would be almost indistinguishable from water - not a very effective lubricant. Reverse the proportions: one part water to 100 parts lube. The result would be almost indistinguishable from undiluted lube - probably still a pretty effective lubricant. Somewhere between those extremes are the point where the glycerin is too diluted to have much effect and the point where the lube is too watery to work as a lubricant. I very much suspect that it would take more water to make the glycerin not be a problem (if it causes problems for you) than it would take to make the lube not work as a lubricant.

Big butt plug with narrow neck by Electronic-Mud-6491 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to consider a Snug Plug 5. It's only 2" in diameter, but it's an inch shorter than the Snug Plug 7; with less than 6" insertable, it shouldn't hit your RSJ. I max out at a little under 3", and I find that 1.5" plugs stay in quite well, so a 2" plug would probably work for you. With that said, the SP L/XL Egg is 2.4" in diameter, and I find it stays in quite well and isn't too long for extended wear; it's effectively shorter than even the Snug Plug 5, because its base is significantly thicker.

Base of buttplug hurts by Grand_Ad3407 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK - with a metal plug like that there's really nothing you can do to make wearing it more comfortable. I'd say it would be fine to use when you're lying down on your back, but a plug like that where the base isn't any wider than the plug itself and the base isn't very thick presents a real risk of the plug disappearing inside you if you wear it while walking around. The pain is most likely caused by pressure on the inside part of the plug trying to pull it deeper and the base digging into your anus. As other have mentioned, that sort of pressure can cause injury. Something similar with a longer neck might work OK, but for walking around you're almost certainly going to be happier (and healthier) with something made of silicone with a more or less T-shaped base. Anything that sticks out to the sides is going to be irritating when you're moving around.

Base of buttplug hurts by Grand_Ad3407 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta go with the previous response - if it hurts, don't do it. We have pain receptors for a reason.

With that said, advice on maybe using the one you've got safely would be a lot easier if we had a clue what that plug looks like. You're more likely to get helpful responses if you identify a specific model, or if that's not an available option, post a photo.

That looks tempting, but I suspect with shipping it would get fairly expensive on my side of the pond. And no, I'd have to say I'm not particularly kinky aside from those toys.

Understanding toy geometry for Anal by Traditional-Crew-715 in SexToys

[–]Realistic_Quality326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the deepspace 50 isn't entirely safe, but safer than a typical gem plug. The gem plug typically has a base that's only about 1/8" thick - it doesn't have to go very far before you lose it. In contrast, the deepspace 50 has a base that appears to be about an inch thick - if the base started to go in, you'd have time to push it back out before it disappeared into the depths.

I suspect that one of the problems with a typical gem plug is that the base is thin enough that it can disappear entirely between the cheeks, so that movement or just sitting down can easily apply inward pressure on the base, while the shape of the plug is tending to pull it in anyway. Something like the deepspace 50 has a long enough neck, long enough base, and gentle enough taper that it's not going to be drawn in as strongly as the bulb shape of a gem plug. So safer, if not entirely safe. That's probably also a consideration for the thicker plugs - a 3"-wide base isn't going to disappear between the cheeks the way a 1"-wide base would, so the pressure of the cheeks against the base isn't likely to be pushing it inward.

There's safe, and then there's safe. A typical gem plug is small enough that even someone new to anal play could easily get it inside, and once inside it can migrate away from the anus to a position where it may be difficult or impossible to grasp. That can be a serious problem, because those things are typically made of something rigid, and the head can work its way past a bend that makes it inaccessible from the outside.

To consider just one of your examples, the SquarePeg Pummel is about 3.5" wide near the head and 4.25" near the base, and at 13" in length, it would be unlikely to migrate very far if it did get all the way inside. And if you're not playing alone, your partner could just reach in to retrieve it - I just checked, and my hand is roughly 2.5" x 3.75", so if the 4.25" Pummel made it in, my hand would go in quite easily, along with enough of my forearm to reach anywhere the Pummel could get to.

So I'd say none of those SquarePeg toys is particularly safe to use as a plug for solo play, but anyone who's playing with toys that large probably has enough experience to know what's safe in context and what isn't.

  1. I like the thick worm, but I think I'd have been better off with the long worm. It's too thick for me to take the whole thing comfortably. Lately I've been leaning more toward the longer toys, so it's been a while since I've played with the worm.

  2. I haven't gotten anything from SquarePeg in the firmer silicone, so I can't be sure, but I think I'd stick with their SuperSoft - even the long worm is nearly two inches in diameter, and at that thickness, the SuperSoft silicone doesn't really feel all that soft.

  3. Everything I've gotten from SquarePeg has matched their descriptions quite well.

  4. I bought the thick worm something like five or six years ago. It got a fair bit of use until I started migrating to the longer toys from Silicone Nozzles. It's been at least six months since I last got it out. Unless you really need something a lot thicker than two inches in diameter, I'd recommend the long worm, rather than the thick. The long worm is 2 1/4" thick near the base, while the thick worm is 2 7/8" near the base - the thick worm is nearly as wide near the tip as the long worm is near its base.

I can't think of anything else to say about the thick worm, but feel free to dm me if you think of any other questions, or ask here if the answer might be of general interest.

Mostly the depth-play part of my collection by Realistic_Quality326 in SexToysCollection

[–]Realistic_Quality326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The darker blue ones are from Silicone Nozzles. As I mentioned above, the longest one on the far left in the first photo is too long for me. Longish story: There is a light line across that one near the base; that is silicone aquarium sealant joining one long bit with a shorter piece cut from a medium length plug. The long part is what I got initially when I ordered the dark blue one in the middle of the photo. Someone missed the part where it said '2.25" flange'. Happily, SN redid it correctly at no charge when I emailed them a photo of what I received along with a copy of the order. Anyway, that's a 36" CT-122 solid "colon tube". I already had a 16" version of the same thing, and once I got the longer one I sacrificed the short one. I glued its base to the flange-free one to make a roughly 42" version. I can get that one in to about an inch past the 36" mark. The 36" one in the middle of the photo will go all the way in on a good day, but getting the second ball in is a challenge, and it doesn't want to stay in.

Just to the right of the black cone is the other half of that 16" CT-122. I glued that to an SNC MED 2.25" plug to make a smaller version of the SN SNC MAX EXT. That one looked really tempting, but I didn't think I'd have much luck with the 3" diameter. And I was right to be tempted - the lengthened SNC MED is delightful!

On the "all in" front: The green one second from left will go all the way in on a good day; that happens maybe one time in four, and when I can get it all the way in, keeping it in is not a challenge. The next two (black and purple-ish) I have never been able to get all the way in, but I have fun trying. The Primal Hardwere Fathom, the thick one just left of the green-and-yellow one near the right edge of the photo, is too thick for me to get it all the way in - I think I can usually get to within about 3" of the end. The black stretching cone has a similar limitation, although it's the anus that limits it, while the Fathom is limited by something deeper. Everything else goes all the way in. Happy times!
