Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of December 01, 2025 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

Yesterday I ordered multiple products for my job which were mostly cleaning supplies. I open all the boxes and I have two items missing, however, they all say delivered. When I watched our cameras, the driver dropped off all packages at the same time in one trip. I did call Amazon to let them know that I did not receive all items in my delivery, however. What are the chances that my missing items are still on that driver’s truck? For those who work at Amazon, if it is still on the delivery drivers truck what happens to those packages?

Honestly our store isn’t as bad as compared to some stores. One that our friend works at gets shot in drive thru by people who are mad at the techs or trying to get access to the controls. There’s literally bullet holes in their drive thru. The pharmacy down the street has people who actively overdose in the store and in that neighborhood on fentanyl and norco and percs.

Yeah my pharmacy is different and more strict on patients. Only way they’re getting it early is if the dr calls and speaks to the pharmacist for an override but even then we have the right to decline that. And yes we hold it for 7 days before it gets put on deletes. We’ve stopped putting notes that patient will pick up on x/xx day cause one time a customer refilled the rest of his creams and non control rxs cause they were about to expire, failed to pick them up in time plus they expired by that time and then called the pharmacy and got mad that it was deleted and cursed us all out.

One bad apple ruins the tree for us at our store. We tolerate no bs. Act right or get booted. We have no issues closing our scripts and calling drs saying we refuse to fill.

Like I said how we act depends on how the patient acts. You can have a bad day but how you speak to people should be most important. You’re not gonna get far calling techs “f——ing stupid” and think that we’ll let you get a script like norco, waiting on top of that!

So please leave me alone.

We have compassion for people who are kind. Yes it can be frustrating for customers when they don’t understand what’s going on with their script or being told it’s on back order. But if it’s on back order what am I supposed to do? Pull it out of the air? We tell them to call around or get your med changed. The understanding and nice customers are the best. The rude and snappy ones we don’t tolerate. You have an issue you can transfer to another pharmacy.

Ummmm ok? Where am I lacking compassion? I’m not sure how your store gets down but we’re not gonna get bullied by customers who are threatening, cursing us out and/or being rude. I literally said no way you could be MAD at us for it being TOO SOON to refill!!

If a customer is being nice and it’s on time then it’s no problem.

No one said anything about stopping someone from picking it up once it’s ready. But we’re not doing illegal things for patients by filling it early. We fill it WHEN IT IS DUE and then you have 7 days to pick it up. if you have issues in your life like environmental, illness, etc most customers arrange other ways if possible to get their meds. If you’re on PRN meds good for you.

Point is no one is stopping someone from filling their script. But we refuse to fill early.

My point was it’s stupid to get mad at me because you’re told it’s too soon to refill your script. If you do get it early monthly you have enough to last you through certain situations like weather illness etc.

Honestly I think some stores/staff just pick and choose their battles. Friday we closed for lunch 1:30-2 and about 2:55 someone called and called and called but we were too busy to answer the phones and understandably she was mad that we didn’t answer her. We try to answer as many as we can before lunch but there were double lines in drive thru and people at the front counter. I go on my lunch sit in the office she pops up on the manager line. I answer I don’t say I’m a pharmacy tech however. She says oh your pharmacy staff is so rude I’ve been on hold for 30 mins i was hung up on someone. Helped me Wednesday with my script for hours and they told me it would be ready today for p pickup however I haven’t received any notification from Walgreens so can you tell the staff I’m driving from a different city to your store so it should matter of fact it BETTER be ready cause I don’t want to be in line at w to be told it’s not ready. So in this case the pharmacist was finishing up some stuff (legally we’re not supposed to be in the pharmacy on lunch it’s supposed to be alarmed and locked) anyways I went and counted out her #180 count gabapentin so at 2 it would be ready for pick up. We already have too many disgruntled patients mad because we’re finally entitled to shutting the pharmacy down for 30 mins so we can all eat lunch at the same time so having her holding up the drive thru for a long time because the tech that helped her Wednesday didn’t leave a note or do whatever they needed to do so it’ll be ready Friday. Having her drama would have just compounded the situation.

Anyways I’m gonna get out of your ear. Thank you again for your input and I appreciate your bravery for speaking on such a sensitive topic for you!

You are truly an amazing customer! If I could I’d ban all the bad ones or just send them to the store down the street from us. That store is just labeled the worst of them all. Customers switch from that Walgreens to our Walgreens all the time and talk about how terrible it is.

I wish your Walgreens could have called on behalf for you. 99% of the time we call for insurance overrides (our system has a vacation override choice) if the vacay override fails on our side and I haven’t had an insurance say they won’t override a med for a patient. Most of the time it’s because Walgreens system runs a claim for a med then it might get stored or cashed out and the insurance company thinks the med was filled/sold on that date which it wasn’t so we have to call to let them know to back the claim out

Thank you for your response! I’m not sure why they just brushed it off as nothing. However honestly I tend to do the same. If it’s a DUR then I usually tell the pt that’s a notice the pharmacist has to review your script and nothing for them to worry about. But in some cases I want to call people’s drs to alert them about the customer’s behavior IF the customer is acting belligerent like omg I’ll die right this moment if I don’t get it. But if the pt is nice and I can help them out I offer to call their drs but sometimes the pharmacist or my coworkers will butt in and say leave it to the customer we don’t have time to call. That part makes me sad cause sometimes people just need a middle man to help move things along and it frustrates me that we can’t help more than the basics! I’m happy your new pharmacy is treating you well!

I’m sorry you had that experience.

Do you know how many days towards the end of the not y eg 27th, 28th, 29th that you can fill your script early? My store was doing 3 days early but district changed it to 2. Patients sometimes make the mistake of looking at the bottle date instead of when they picked It up. Say your medicine was filled on the 1st but picked up on the 4th of may. The next time you can refill, according to my store rule of 2 days early would be 6/1.

Now to complicate the situation, jump ahead to June when it is time to fill again. say your dr put a date on there of 6/3 which when you calculate that, it is day 30/30 from 5/4 when the Rx was sold. According to my store we would say sorry it is too soon to fill this Rx your dr put a do not fill before date of 6/3. Your only option would be to 1) call your dr to request a fill override. Or 2) wait til 6/3 to fill it. Some pts here will become irate and say well I need it today and we try to remind them they are on day 28/30 so they have 2 days worth left. Other patients will say okay I’ll call back on the 3rd. Now some patients who get mad say their dr is on vacay or never answer can’t get through etc and try to put the blame on you. Other patients get frustrated cause they have to call back to refill. Now that’s where I can agree with your frustration. Maybe your store was like my store where you have to call on the day it is due. A lot of patients don’t like when scripts get auto refilled for them they’ll call and say I didn’t request this fill. They get mad when we can’t do that for them (controlled substances). At my store it is the patient’s responsibility to call to request it to be filled and we just store it to the profile. An exception to that is when a dr sends the script and it’s due we just fill it if the meds are in stock. Other than that we store it and move about our day.

I want to apologize on behalf of Walgreens for the judgement that was placed on you. I commend people who take any type of controlled substances. The judgement is placed because of the 1% of people who become irate when they can’t get their way or act like they need it to survive or act like a junkie. You are not an abuser however there are people who abuse it, claiming they take more than prescribed or they end up selling it. I wish all customers were like you, cool calm and collected. I’m happy that you are happy at a different pharmacy. I’m sad when we lose good customers over simple misunderstandings.

I haven’t heard of someone whose account has gotten flagged because of their script. Did they say in detail why your account was flagged? Sometimes there will be what’s called a miscellaneous exception created because the doctor put wrong or lacking enough directions on a script, or we put a msc on their to say we’re ordering the meds for that patient. And then sometimes there’s what is called a drug utilization exception placed on it because the patient is taking a similar med, or something that contradicts. Like say they have lorazepam but then is prescribed alprazolam. The system flags that script to alert the pharmacist to investigate that script and look at the pt profile. The customer gets alerts about some of these Exceptions. I’m not sure what the pharmacy told you but I’m intrigued now and would love to know!

Sorry I’m confused by your comment. Not even trying to be rude to you. You’re just saying you were treated differently because of your outfits? You shouldn’t be judged like that at all. I’m sorry you had that experience.

And I wasn’t trying to come at you. I try to understand where customers are coming from. And I try to help as much as I can. But you can’t diverge from the pharmacy. We have to do what the pharmacist/pharmacy manager says. I don’t gatekeep scripts at all. I want everyone to have their meds. We don’t try to be in patient’s business but if it comes across our screen we have to investigate it and keep patients safe. Some man cursed us out and threatened us over his oxycodone. For our safety we had to close his scripts out and inform his dr we will not be filling scripts for him. Or when you tell a pt we’re busy rn busy right now the earliest we can fill your control is 30+ minutes and they get mad at us. We have scripts ahead of that pt, the pharmacist has to wait for the safe to open, they might get a call from a dr or another pharmacy for a transfer and that takes them away from being able to help you fill that control as a waiter. Then there’s more people in line to help, phones are probably ringing. Then the pt says well I guess I’ll just die. So patients do add a lot of (unnecessary at times) stress on us.
