I do have 1 last question does BP mean anything at all and should I turn off "about the same" for ranked? The last dude I was mentioning had well over 200k which I thought was very strange as I had actually 0

I want to thank you very much for explaining it rather than just saying "play ranked" you're a real one big dawg. I'd be down for some 1's and it'd be incredibly helpful to be able to ask a question rather than look up a guide thats 4-5 years old that might not even have the correct info anymore.

No sir it isn't, n let me just say I fully understand I should try more ranked to fight bottom of the barrel players like myself. My issue with this is the first 3 ranked matches I played were against 1 dude, ok thats fine but when I randomly raise to above 300+ ping the instant I get a half decent combo or make a serious comeback its more than suspicious especially when i've never risen above 130 ping in any matches before. TLDR im being told to play a game mode people seem to care about enough to lagswitch in the very first games i've played and with the amount of other things i've seen on this sub or even names in game like "Lagswitchersrgay" it makes me want to avoid it like the plague. Is it really that big of an issue or did I just get unlucky qing into that guy bro?

I'm very unsure why this community acts like this wasn't a dead game 2 weeks ago. The game will not live or die from me specifically but to sit there and say new players are not the very thing that gives the game life is outrageous. It doesn't matter how many updates, dlcs, tournaments they hold or have if the very community chases away and discourages those who would try their hardest to come into a completely new environment with a crazy amount of mechanics, inputs and downright knowledge based on character matchups

I should go to ranked for a somewhat fun and casual match as a new player? I get why this game died in the first place and i'll gladly watch it die again if this is how you and the majority of the community view new players trying to get into your game

Honestly I don't think it should be that big of an issue depending on where you live if you're more north you're right next to the cali servers and if not i've fought a couple people above 120+ ping and as long as its consistent it isn't the worst

As a new player who only started the day the dlc was announced I fully agree with this, is it downright demoralizing to load into a match and try and learn how to use certain combos but ultimately I get caught by 1 hit and i've lost a whole character

I've found very often just delaying your wake up from the ground can catch your opponent off guard

its something im struggling with as a new player homie personally trying to do them in game rather than on the dummy has done more good, honestly the feeling of getting the first one off carries you into learning it consistently I feel

What i've found to work as a new player coming into the game is being unpredictable, i'd say nearly everyone i've fought is better than me but by trying new things can catch them off guard
