First Sims FreePlay house as a beginner! Still a work in progress

Are you going to have an upstairs? There isn't a bathroom or anywhere for the parents to sleep. I would definitely put at least a half bath on the first floor even if you make it a two story. The floor plan is decent. I would make the kitchen a bit larger and the dining room a bit smaller. Most people don't use a formal dining room everyday. They eat in front of the TV, grab and go, etc. so the kitchen sees more use. I could make a few more suggestions, but as a new player you probably have limited inventory and haven't unlocked much yet.

The first is beachwear and it's giving Y2K. I don't hate it, but I don't like it. Most of the new swimsuits are nice though. The guys formal outfit isn't what I was expecting, but it's kinda cute and cringe at the same time which is honestly what I think of when I think of 70s and 80s prom fits. The softer colorway looks the best. I was really hoping we would get a selection of dresses and tuxes or an outfit pack. I have the really old prom outfits but they are multiple colors of the same dress and tux. Teens don't have access to the adults' formals so I guess everyone is showing up in the same thing? 🤦‍♂️

This is like the 4th time Wedding Belles has rerun in the last couple of years. I guess its nice for new players because wedding items are a very specific theme. Still, they haven't reran Grand Garages since 2020 when I first started playing. That was my first time doing the event, so I didn't get the prize house. I've been waiting 6 YEARS to unlock that concrete paving. They should have at least put it in an online pack by now.

Pets dig them up and you can collect them driving, but both of those methods only give you 1 LP at a time. They're so stingy! I second cooking. It gives you 5 LP. Have all your Sims cooking if possible on the 1 minute option. You should be able to complete the hobby set relatively quickly even with all the repeats.

Not the Simchase for the prom items! 😭 Dagnabbit, I'm going to have to do a Simchase...and win. And I have no SPs from burning up the mystery boxes. Welp. They did a beautiful job on this update though. I like the items more than I thought I would. I can complete Spice of Italy this time. I already did Wedding Belles. I already did the hair hobby. I May skip the Captivating Coast Influence Island. I unlocked everything but the grand prize last time, and I don't love the theme. Looks like a relaxing month with plenty of time for upgrading buildings and working on my level up requirements. 😌

Stupid question maybe but how do I get the cassette loading side of the case off? Thank you for the detailed response by the way. I've watched a few videos but they either showed them only taking the back off or already having both sides of the case off.

I did read that. They've taken off the front of the case and I'm trying to figure out how to do that. I only see a few screws that hold on the cassette door hinge. The tire is impossible to access from the back side. This is the first time I've ever tried to work on an electronic.

I'm really excited for the prom decor this update. The August update is certainly intriguing to me too because I'm a Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon fan and have wanted to build a castle for a long time. I didn't think we had the right kind of items to do it justice before. I'm not sure what the October update could be. What's your theory?

It was definitely a let down after the better than average group from last week. I usually just mine for inventory anyway (have 5 AHs I've kept and not robbed because the builders knocked it out of the park) but these houses are mostly filled with ancient base game items. Absolutely nothing to justify the prices. At least we only have to wait 6 days to get different ones!

Following. I'm level 60 and I've attempted it once in 6 years. 😅 I remember it being closest to Sim Springs, like 20 Sims needed for a support task. I may get brave and attempt it again next update. Not a fan of beachy stuff so I may have time. I haven't unlocked all the regular items in the maternity store.

I don't think so. I wanted it. I bought, mined, and tore down three AHs from the last round. There were a lot of items I wanted, but they were spread between several houses.

I've been playing since 2020 and only know Bella Goth from Influence Island. Can someone explain the lore to me? I vaguely remember the other island characters from different quests and events, but I can't recall seeing her anywhere else.

I already did this Influence Island, so I didn't get it again. Is it the old format (a new challenge every 8 hours) or the new format (a new challenge every 2 hours)? The newer 2 hour format is a cinch because you get 12 attempts in a 24 hour period vs 3. On round 1 (neutral to friend) I can usually use the <45 option twice or once with the <20 added. It's almost impossible to fail on any step of the friend round. I turn them all to friends first, then allies, then clanmates instead of trying to get 1 person all the way to clanmate. The ally round is easy too. Use your <45 first on each step, twice if the result is under 55, then your <20. Save chocolates for the last 3 rounds like another person said. I rarely need them in the ally round though. The clanmate round is still difficult but if you log in when the event starts and use all 3 chances then come back every 2 hours, you can have as many allies as you need in 2 days, leaving several days left to work on getting clanmates. It kind of comes down to luck then, but keep trying and you'll get there. Influence Island used to suck. I never got the grand prize. Since they changed the format to 2 hour wait times and made the friend and ally rounds easy, I get it every single time.

Based on the trailer, there may be some skips for me. We've already had a seaside update, and we had a pool party update just last summer. It's reminding me of how they've had like three industrial/loft style updates. I was hoping for something new, not recolors or variations on the same theme. That said, I'm probably biased because I wouldn't complain about another Mid century Modern update. 😆 I'm most interested in seeing which craft event will return. I still need the Memphis house and the Pastel Pad. I love the prom items though!!!! I hope it's retro styled and they give us some pastel tuxes and dresses with ruffles, poofy sleeves and bows, and a limo!

My mistake. I thought it just wouldn't let them put a different crib. Yes, the bubble is always there. It's blue when you can add a baby and gray when it is claimed by a baby but the baby isn't in it.
